Twisted -self care
Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

I am going to re-iterate what @Faith-and-Hope has already said as she has made some really important points here @Catcakes
The moderators are here to make sure the forums are safe and what is 'discussed' does not breach our guidelines. They are not here to be counsellors for members but do interact on occasion with members. The @moderator function was introduced when the new app was introduced so members who did not have access to the 'report inappropriate content' on phones could 'flag' a moderator if they felt someone was unsafe or content breached guidelines. It was never intended to be a 'function' that asked a moderator for personal help as this is not a crisis service - it is a peer-to-peer support forum. In saying that - yes - some members interact with some moderators more - and that is often been built up over a long period of time for many different reasons. That would seem to some as 'personal support from moderators' but there have been a lot of changes over the last 6 months or so on here and those 'relationships' between certain moderators and certain members began well before those changes.
It is also helpful to @mention someone in your posts if you want a specific member to respond. I, like others, do not receive notifications for threads unless I am @mentioned and therefore do not read a lot of what happens on a large number of threads. This forum has increased dramatically in terms of member numbers and the amount of threads. It is not possible to keep track of everyone or ever thread - therefore often small groups form around one or two threads. This is problemmatic for newer members but it is also human nature to gravitate towards 'people' that have formed 'relationships' on here. This doesnot mean that other members cannot join in - but it has to be a give and take approach from both parties.
I have mentioned this to you before @Catcakes but worth mentioning again - if you tag me I will reply - it may not be straight away as I may not be logged on but I will reply. You have been a part of several conversations with me previously, and your support of Bella3 tonight was wonderful - but you need and deserve that same support in return. @Faith-and-Hope and I are both around for you - no matter if you are in a bad mood or not.
You’ll soon be able to use one secure login to access all SANE services.
For added security, members are now required to log in with their email address and password - member names are no longer supported for logging in.
If you had a Forums account before 19 May 2026 and haven’t set up your new login yet, you'll be prompted to set up your new secure login when you sign-in.
