Falling apart

Falling apart

I have just discovered this forum and am hoping that i can find some people who have simillar experiences as myself.

4 weeks ago my then partner decided to end our relationship, he suffers PTSD which has turned into somewhat chronic depression.

He asked that i remain his friend as he feels as though if i didnt he would have no body.

I am upholding his request and trying to support him the best that i can. He has not done anything to hurt me in anyway and he believes that ending the relationship is better for me then me continuing to live alongside him and his depression. He feels he is not worthy of somebody doing that.

He has expressed alot more since we have seperated about his feelings towards different things that have happened throughout his life and i guess as such contributed to how he feels today.

Taking out the relationship and looking at this as even just a friend, sometimes it is very difficult. I dont know what to say or do to some of the feelings he tells me.

I am new to this forum its my first post. I am unsure how much information to give, but i am hoping there is somebody out there who has some words of support or wisdom for me.

Thanks in advance

Re: Falling apart

No @TAB never heard of them

but this week I actually had a personal tour of the australian cartoon museum

I will check if they have hans unt Fritz ... or not doing Americano stuff.

No really we can have virtual coffee/tea/ale/cordial anytime. Just dont look at the cobwebs.

Can you believe it I had to clean the webs off my high heel shoes that I wore for my solo! It had been a few years.

@utopia

I have really missed you chirrupy cockie persona, but gradually have gotten to know your more serious side and appreciate you hanging in there.

Christmas Eve ... rehearsing for a street opera ... then a service in a church that lets us use a hall for cheap and going to my gf with early dementia ... next day to her daughters for lunch and christmas afternoon I have an hour with my son ... behind a BIG WALL ... where I have my retinas photgraphed. At least he is no longer in handcuffs. Then home and a lunch with friends on Boxing Day.

I do feel appreciated irl. My friends were sure to make me feel welcome. For last 2 years this forum has been very important for me, on the first christmas my mother died, but I wont make it on forum this christmas.

Hope you integrate your up and down sides and hold your head up in the small town of yours.

Re: Falling apart

@Adge - so funny - it says 'adge gave you kudos for falling apart'. I read it and thought 'she's congratulating me for having a breakdown'. Can't stop laughing.

Re: Falling apart

No I certainly wouldn't wish that on anyone @utopia (or falling apart).

I'm glad you have a wacky sense of humour.

I guess giving likes to posts means "I hear you", even though I don't have the words to say much...

Re: Falling apart

@Adge. Yes they do mean I hear you or I'm here. But it's just how it was written. Really gave me a laugh. And I needed one

Re: Falling apart

Yes I'm very much in need of laughs too @utopia

This season takes a lot out of me. It exacerbates loneliness, & feeling totally left out of things.

There's even been more work stress, leading up to Christmas.

Re: Falling apart

@Adge. I don't know why they call it the silly season. They should call it the crazy season. Working longer and harder. Crowds everywhere. Rude people. Christmas carols. Presents to buy. Food to create. Guilt. Worries. It is a crazy time of year.

Re: Falling apart

I agree @utopia Everyone seems to go completely loopy, I reckon.

It's the crowds, the constant rushing, & the impatience (& rudeness) that I have little tolerance for.

Yes there's the "Giving spirit" absolutely, but I'm afraid I don't see much of that at all (it's hard to find).

Re: Falling apart

Nay @TAB Did not read papers as a kid or a grown up. So never got to the funnies. This friend is trying to educate me in LOW BROW ... it was in a very cool art collectiv in Harbourtown.

Bought an age last week ... first in a many years... it did not feel worth it ... even if it was the Royal Commission issue.
