Falling apart

Falling apart

I have just discovered this forum and am hoping that i can find some people who have simillar experiences as myself.

4 weeks ago my then partner decided to end our relationship, he suffers PTSD which has turned into somewhat chronic depression.

He asked that i remain his friend as he feels as though if i didnt he would have no body.

I am upholding his request and trying to support him the best that i can. He has not done anything to hurt me in anyway and he believes that ending the relationship is better for me then me continuing to live alongside him and his depression. He feels he is not worthy of somebody doing that.

He has expressed alot more since we have seperated about his feelings towards different things that have happened throughout his life and i guess as such contributed to how he feels today.

Taking out the relationship and looking at this as even just a friend, sometimes it is very difficult. I dont know what to say or do to some of the feelings he tells me.

I am new to this forum its my first post. I am unsure how much information to give, but i am hoping there is somebody out there who has some words of support or wisdom for me.

Thanks in advance

Re: Falling apart

Stronger than yesterday @Fee1 ...... thank you. Making my way through the day.

I posted on Daily Goals thread today, which helps with accountability and goal setting in baby steps. I think that made a difference .... got me up and going with something.

Re: Falling apart

@TAB. Just solar panels for me on a town block. If I lived in the hills I might add hydro. But all energy going to a battery bank - not to some electricity company who doesn't pay what it's worth

Re: Falling apart

Yeah apparently they are pushing people to get solar .. for their use not the households. Piping water heated by sun can be useful too apparently very common in Israel. Was forced on them in 70s now no one pays to heat water there

Re: Falling apart

Soz you are both a bit flat @TAB and @utopia

@PeppiPattyhas heaps of coffee dates ... or you can fly to the eastern seaboard where I am

Peppi ... I miss @ Aoenoran ... and @SCORPION and others. I believe @Loopy is gone my love. I was very upset as he was also a greenie and schizoaffective, but he got cancer and became very sick. If I am wrong please let me know. I have been away, thanks for noticing. Flat out doing what had to be done and off the net. My new plan is stingy so it may be a problem for a while, where I drop out when the data is used up.

I was sorry to see you had a bad day @Faith-and-Hope you have been an inspiration to so many of us .. but you have a tough gig.

Hi @dands26 Glad to meet you and see you around

Re: Falling apart

@Appleblossom - the last week I've been down. Thankfully today is a bit better. My psychologist reminded me that yes, there is a downward trajectory with my mood - but that I can stop it going further - by putting in extra effort to eat well, sleep well, walk daily to the shops, to stop hibernating. When he said it, I didn't think I could do these. But a few hours later, I could do one or two things to break my negative habits that are bad for depression.
How have you been? I haven't spoken to you in a long while. Are you taking care of yourself? Do you have plans for the holiday season?
