@Former-Member ..... it feels like the mods are "popping in" less often ..... as in joining conversations on threads.

Are the forums much busier now at your end than they were ?

Are the longer-term mods less available ?

I think the convo on Riding a Wave thread is about a sense that the dynamics have changed, without being able to understand why that might be.

My first thought is whether it's circumstantial ..... transition changes ..... everyone is just busy behind the scenes and unconscious of the surface affect (or lack of usual affect) ?

Is it okay to tag you and other mods into threads for a chat with us ? Of course we don't know your shifts to be able to know who is on at any one time .....

Re: Forum changes

No I don't think so @Phoenix_Rising - that would be crossing a line (as we have done before) as it was a private experience between you and HC. What has eventuated as a consequence here on the forum however has had wider implications for other members - therefore the explanation given by @Former-Member was a necessary one to explain to all that were involved here with you.

Re: Forum changes

@Phoenix_Rising

would you feel safer on one of your own familiar threads...the storm or wave one

again I don't want to intrude

others whom you feel more comfortable with will find you there

wherever you feel safe is what is most important

Re: Forum changes

@Zoe7 So...Suzanne can selectively disclose a small part of what has transpired between me and the HC over the phone, but I can't share what transpired in a call between me and the HC last Thursday night? Can you see a muddle here???

Re: Forum changes

Yes I can totally see your muddle here @Phoenix_Rising - and in hindsight it may have been appropriate for @Former-Member to consult with you first before included that small part about you in the post.

Re: Forum changes

Thanks @Former-Member

I did go and get some herbal tea. Looking forward to 2nd post.

Today I had 2 experiences off the forum but related to these questions and my mental health care and current approaches.

1) My psychologist of 18 months phoned my landline and left her personal mobile and expressed her concern for me, suggested I get to GP today and to phone her. That has been AMAZING for me.

I have never experienced anything like that IN MY LIFE. eg timely response to me as an individual within a family as a child or an adult and as a person in a community. TICK.

She just called again as I was posting so she has my faith and respect.I have assured her I will be responsible and part of that which I did not state to her will be withdrawing from forum for a while. As I am retriggered too often atm in this form of cultural expression. I will do other things. I will be safe.

2) I said "no" in a care relationship.

It was to my GP who also has my faith and my respect.

Mind you, I agreed to comply with many things, (meds, calming behaviours, driving limitation etc) however she inadvertently asked me to call CATT or the ED if I felt triggered. Well that immediately had the effect of triggering me.

WELL any reasonable person in my circumstance with my NOK current circs would be outraged.

My response to her was that the CATT team and the local ED did not DO THEIR JOB for my son in October 2017. Follow up negligible. Please do not expect me to pretend that their incompetence is actually going to be of any benefit to me.

This is also called a delusion and a lie.... to pretend to provide a 24/7 service that DOES NOT WORK. My car mechanic today is providing a service. I hope it works..

SO I promised her I would NOT phone them, but use other more effective supports.

I am satisfied I have found something new. I am allowed to say "no" to somebody for my good reasons. Please world I hope that I am not pushed into highly charged circumstances where any attempt to protect myself or the ones I love is dismissed or nullified.

I used to the silent one, the inarticulate one, the one who did the work but did not have ease of quick words to my mouth. Who might fall on the floor when the cute child moved a chair that I may have hoped to sit on.

Thank you to any who have read the words from my mind, heart and hands.

No is such a small word but can be so powerful @Appleblossom

Re: Forum changes

Hi @Appleblossom, I understand your reasons for pulling back from the forum for now. Both of us have done that before when needed. I think it can be helpful to get perspective by stepping back in that way. We've both also come back before if and when that seemed helpful later. I feel for your current circumstances, and recognise the vulnerabilities, also have trust in your capacities and resourcefulness. It's good to hear you have found something new, as well as a caring psychologist. Thank you for letting us know you will be safe. Wishing you well in any absence from this meeting place, hoping you return sooner rather than later. Above all, I hope for healing for you and your son, and much better days.
