@Former-Member it is nice to 'meet' you despite the circumstances that this has happened. Your presence here does say that the issues raised are being taken seriously and I do believe that when all Community Managers are back 'on board' that there will be some very 'tricky' discussions happening in order to address these concerns.
In response to your post, however, there are some further issues that I am going to 'stick my neck out' to raise. I am doing so here - in the 'public domain' as this is where the conversation was started and responded to - and I feel is appropriate for full transparency.
1) The initial post yesterday from Suzanne has been edited to clarify or better explain some points.
The initial post re: the The Help Centre stated -
"It's useful to be aware don't use those channels to manage forum issues"
It now states -
"It's useful to be aware that we don't use those channels to manage forum issues
- like any problems with technology, notifications etc. "
This clarification now says to me that the Help Centre is NOT for administrative /technical issues however other issues that arise on the forum such as conflicts or triggers can be talked through via the Help Centre - am I seeing this correctly?
2) It was stated that the circumstances and actions last Thursday were explained to one member - my concern here is that there was more than one member involved, in some way, in either trying to provide support or being affected by the Facebook post. Those members were left 'in the dark' until yesterday around why the 'events' of that night unfolded as they did. I see this as a huge oversight and also potentially damaging for those members 'left in the dark'. I do understand that this was a difficult night all round, however, I believe that it should have been followed up much sooner - and specifically with other members involved.
I definitely do not mean to continue this conversation here on for longer than it needs to be, or cause any further issues/distress for any one - but the two points I have stated above have had a significant impact on my feelings of safety and support both on the forum and with regards to the Help Centre (not with the Help Centre itself or those in the Help Centre) but in regards to the initial ambiguity around what could be discussed if a member contacted the Help Centre.
These are my personal feelings and beliefs - however I could not sit back and not respond when I felt some questions were left unanswered - and it was continuing to have an impact on me personally.
