Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Hi @Former-Member, I don't think I've met you here before so welcome 🙂

It sounds like it's a bit of a scary and confusing day for you. I'm glad you are sharing how you're feeling and receiving support here. As @Former-Member mentioned (maybe in another thread) you are welcome to contact the Help Centre (phone and chat are available 10am to 10pm Eastern time).

Are there any other supports you can get in touch with today (friends, family members or professionals)?

Take care and please keep posting if it's helpful. There's always someone to listen here 🙂

@Former-Member - sometimes we need to say things strongly. Get it out. Scream it loud. I find it helps. So no, I'm not offended at all by your language. In fact I think it's appropriate.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

My neighbour set up large speakers outside his house (permanently) a few weeks ago.

He has been playing very loud music regularly, several times a week (for hours). In fact for most of every weekend recently.

They also host a loud party with loud music outside virtually every week.

It's ear-splittingly loud - even with all my doors & windows shut (& with some mild noises of my own), I cannot even remotely shut the noise out.

It feels very invasive, & it's beginning to make me feel unsafe, harassed & intimidated.

The neighour & his girlfriend are both rather aggressive people, from what they've said & how they've repeatedly behaved.

So I really don't know how to deal with it.

I deserve & need my privacy & personal space.

I have done these people many personal favours, & have loaned them my equipment (which they broke) - yet I am not being shown any respect in return.

Adge

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hubby still in hospital - might be discharged Wednesday -so that will be 4 weeks that he's been in. He will be on oxygen 24/7 when he comes home. I am hyper agitated, and have been since he was admitted, because any changes will impact on my life, my work, and my relationship with Andrew. There are so many unknowns, so until hubby gets home, there are worrying and scary and helpless thoughts going around and around my head. And then I start trembling and then rock to and fro because I am terrified that I will lose Andrew, who I call my little brother and we can talk about anything, and I have huge abandonment issues and then my anxiety goes through the roof. Knowing him has been such a positive thing, despite his substance abuse issues. My psychologist thinks he is so good for me. And its not a sexual relationship, we are so similar and in so many ways. I'm happy just to catch up for a couple of hours a week. And I don't want to cut down my hours at work or quit my job, so hubby and I will have to talk about him possibly going into care. There are just so many uncertainties....

@Adge - same thing happened to me. I called the police and asked it to be an anonymous call. They've shut my neighbours music off a number of times for me.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Thanks @utopia hi everyone

This thread is a blessing for me because my brain has been on overdrive for so long now that I'm just so so so tired about the constant looping of 'what ifs" and "this is all too hard" and "I'm not going to be able to do all this on my own." thoughts. Hubby's back from hospital after 27 days, the oxygen has arrived (he is to be on it 24/7), he's absolutely exhausted without it. Once hubby has settled in we will discuss his situation and where to from here. I caught up with Andrew today-he has been so supportive and calming and logical throughout this difficult time, and even though he doesn't know hubby or our circumstances, he continues to be there for me, insisting he is only a phone call away if I need anything, even if I just want to rant-I must try to remember to continue to break things down in bite-size pieces, else what will be is too overwhelming. I really don't think that hubby will be ok on his own...so it's working out what will work for him and myself. Take care all

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Two things are bugging me today so I’m just going to put them both out there.
When I joined the forums I read widely and one particular thread I looked at once. It’s prolific and puts out many notifications, I asked how to delete it , got an answer but couldn’t get rid of it.
One of the guides said let @Former-Member know and they’ll delete it he thread, someone tried , couldn’t do it.
Someone else said.... instructions are “here”
😏 yeah thanks
