Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I've had so many "shoulds" in my mind over the past few weeks, especially at this time of year.

Most of what I could do, I have done (shopping & house tasks, etc).

The should are about things that I cannot control, or that circumstances don't permit -

- eg I should have someone to spend Christmas with

- I should have a family (to spend it with)

- I should do more (I'm not doing enough), etc.

I'm so tired, I really should (certainly need) a rest.

That's almost impossible, with my neighbour operating a front-end loader out the front, all day today.

I feel so uncomfortable when people have asked me "What are you doing for Christmas"? Or "What are you having for Christmas lunch"?

That's because they rarely want to hear me say the truth, which is - "I'm spending Christmas on my own, because I have no-one to spend it with" (as for most of the past 7 years).

& - I'm not having any special Christmas meal (or gathering)...

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Work just messaged then phoned me at 7.30am this morning - asking me to work an unknown shift today, with no notice.

I'm not rostered on to work until the middle of next week (Wednesday).

These frequent, unexpected contacts from them cause me considerable stress, & I find it very hard to deal with.

I am in need of a solid break, with no contact from work - I don't know how to maintain (get) that now.

I'm now worried that they may now phone every day, for the rest of my time off - asking me again to work (with no notice).

It's possible, because that's how they operate.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

😞 @Adge, can you block, ignore them - just not receive their calls? Its hard to draw boundaries with 'desperate' people ⛔

Thanks @Former-Member

Yes it is hard to maintain good boundaries with people who don't seem to respect any boundaries.

I don't know how to block calls - I'm sure I would be within my rights to do that.

Ignoring doesn't seem to work with these people.

When I didn't reply to their message straight away, to give myself time to settle so that I could reply calmly - they then phoned incessantly as well.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hate!
This is a word I 'hate' using.
BUT
Since this is a thread designed to 'have a whinge' without expecting anyone to be troubled by it, have somethings to get out ff my chest. I hate
- that my son just told me his former long term (5yr) defacto couldn't handle me (his mother) because of "the whole mental health thing"
- I hate me hat BPD sufferers are stigmatised (abused) by health professionals, especially by the many afflictions gnorant MH professionals
- I hate me that my mother is dying, and my dad with dementia has forgotten my childhood
- I hate that my parents & two brothers to with pSz dx desperately wanting me to come help but then bitch about the way I do just about everything
- I hate that I totalled my car trying to get to them last week
- I hate that the 12hr bus trip is agony / exacerbates my lower back problems
- I hate that I have no friends to mind my birds and without the car I now have a o also part with my Bourke's birds Gembo & Pearl 😢
- I hate that I have anxiety flying and have booked a plane to Sydney tomorrow
- I hate that I'm still paying for the last trip down
- I hate that I'm complaining so much when my parents are dying

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

My heartfelt feelings for you @Adge and sincerely hope things improve for you. Hate is a word that we should abhor but it is not always possible to circumnavigate certain feelings. Do not enjoy the festive season as once was the case. Isolation and feeling disconnected from regular outings, club meetings, friends away on hoildays (deservedly) is not a hateful thing but certainly one to have extra forebeareance with. May this new year bring us peace, love and contentment into our lives. Hugs to you @Adge from all those on this forum. - Bimby2
