Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Well, life has is a roller coaster ride. I'm up on a high at the moment. And know it is only a matter of time before i am down in the dumps.

I have had too learn how to accept the reality of my circumstances. And not fixated myself on this dream like fantasy lifestyle.( and discount the nightmares ) where everything is just fine and dandy. Otherwise i would be running myself into the ground and going around the bend. Through desperate trying too make the fantasies of my imagination become a reality. And it also works in the opposite way. Nightmares and dreams. They all my head. But i would dearly love to make my reality a better place. And too do this. I think i need to switch off from everything that's going on in my head. And concentrate on positive possibilities. That I'm capable of achieving. And keeping it "real simple " learning what works. And learning what doesn't. Being sure of myself. Knowing the difference between reality and thoughts. And taking action.

Living is hard work. I'm programmed to live and survive. And get the most out of life. And it's a very stressful experience when things ain't quite working out how I'd like them too. And I'm left... feeling hollow and empty. And tormented bye my very own mind. Don't know what life is meant to be about anymore. Feeling like there is something missing! And wanting to desperately fix the problem.

@Sakurapuss

I could not watch 13 reasons why

but we all make mistakes about what we can and cannot handle.

EG I went to Dunkirk with my son and was triggered .... He understood and we got over it and I gave him permission to warn me about certain directors.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I was today subjected to serious workplace bullying & intimidation by a junior (yet slightly older) staff member.

I was screamed at, whilst explaining why the volunteer (who I was actually training) could not be expected to know everything (on his first day). I was physically grabbed & shoved by this staff member.

He told me to "get out of his space" & to "go away", because he believed that I have no right of reply to his screaming & blaming words.

I was requested by my coordinator to write an email report & complaint, which I sent off an hour ago.

The blaming words spoken by that staff member - first about the volunteer, then spoken of me (when I defended the volunteer), were disrespectful & intimidating.

I've been in a state of shock & disbelief for the past 7 hours, as a result of this incident.

Having been previously subjected to a physical workplace assault elsewhere - I have no faith in complaints procedures or incident reporting.

No action was taken by the previous workplace, or by the government authorities (when reported).

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I can't walk away from this post @Adge. I am furious, and I have to speak up.

@Adge - how utterly horrid. You didn't deserve that brutal treatment at all. You could take this to the police, as you were physically and verbally assaulted. What a stupid, idiotic jerk. Is someone with you now to support you? Are you safe? And the poor volunteer will probably never come back.

You need to report this, for your sake and others. But your employers should be offering you debriefing or counselling.

So so sorry @Adge. I'm here if you need to talk, or I'm just here to keep you company. Have you had something to drink/eat?

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Thank you so much @Sans911 for your kind, sensitive reply.

I have already written & emailed my report of this incident only 2 hours ago - it was very hard to write, as I'm still dazed & in shock.

I live alone, I have no-one here to support me, although I am safe enough thanks. Terribly shaken.

No Debriefing was given, & no counselling was offered. I was simply asked to write a report straight away, which I have done.

I am one of the few experienced & senior staff who is still there (who has not left).

There are only 3 of us who have been there more than 12 months - the other 20 or so staff have all been there less than 6 months.

I was given responsibility for helping & training the volunteer, because I am one of the most experienced. Yet no respect or appreciation was shown by the ....staff member.

I reassured the volunteer & supported him as much as I could. I wouldn't blame him at all if he did never come back, after that behaviour.

I had great difficulty eating any dinner, I feel nauseous & dazed. I ate a little. I'm so tired.

I have a very gentle nature, & I'm always polite to people - so some people think that means I'm a "pushover", they speak rudely & show aggression. They also seem to expect to get away with it.

I have a severe trauma background (CPTSD), so being subjected to aggression affects me very badly.

There really is no excuse for such behaviour, in any case.

I wish people wouldn't tag dozens of people in the one post as if it means something

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@Adge - om so sorry you have no one with you. I'm here tonight if you want to talk on this thread or any other. I'm been the subject of bullying on several occasions in my career and have been driven to attempt suicide due to lack of support. Hugs my dear friend. Please take care of you. Do you have a therapist, supportive GP or someone you can talk this over? You sound very traumatised. 😞

Thanks @Sans911 I will see my psychologist next Tuesday, that seems a long time away.

I've emailed her, she is happy for me to do that - although she may not be able to reply (often she can't).

I'm sorry to hear that you have been bullied in the workplace too. I had to leave 2 jobs on account of it (assaulted & filed a police report from one).

So tired, it's only 7pm WST, but need to go to bed soon.
