Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I have someone coming to do some work in my apartment today and I'm ridiculously nervous about it for no reason.

It is quite natural to be nervous about someone being in YOUR space @TheVorticon for whatever reason. If you are feeling uncomfortable or nervous when they are there then reach out here (tag me in) and we can chat about stuff - pokemon, lego, skateboarding - anything you like

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I didn't want to take the whole day off work so just left them there to do their thing @Zoe7 . Hopefully they don't destroy the place. Its the communication and decision stuff that is getting to me. But i should just get back to work.

@TheVorticon I don't even know what day it is so you are one step ahead of me lol. Hopefully they don't destroy the place while you are gone - you'd have to rebuild using legos I find I can't make decisions or communicate things properly when I am not well or feeling low - so don't beat yourself up about that one - it is hard to do when you are struggling in other areas. Hope work is treating you ok today though. Chat later

Ugh he's coming back on Saturday. Dammit! I couldn't even properly hear him on the phone so who knows wtf he said about it and why he's coming back. Man I suck at this "adulting" thing.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I feel so much more alone when I'm ill. This virus & secondary infection has been a long recovery (almost 2 weeks so far).

Only about 6 weeks since I just recovered from the last bout of flu (which lasted weeks).

I feel do doped & unable to think. Then I'm increasingly dissociated (spaced out) today - probably brought on by being at home alone ill for so long.

Add intense anxiety & despair feelings to that (supposedly emotional flashbacks) - not a nice mix.

I can't seem focus on doing (or finding) anything that might be comforting. I keep finding myself staring blankly into space.

I've had it. Why don't I just get better? Better still not get ill at all in the first place.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I have been feeling nervous for no reason all morning. It's making it really difficult to focus on work and doesn't help that I keep finding mistakes in things that I thought were fine. I have tried calming down but it is not working. And I have a sponraneous meeting to go to, in place of my boss who can't attend, and have to get a lift with someone to even get there. Great great great great great great great.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@Adge, I know what you're saying. These bugs/flu/viruses-which seem to be hitting people 2 or 3 times this year-have, like yourself, knocked me out completely. I've had 8 sick days from work, and am now only beginning to feel well enough to do the barest minimum of housework and take my little dog out for a walk. The rest of the time I've been bundled up in my blankets in bed. As a result of this my thoughts have been all over the place and its like during all this time I haven't much cared or felt much about anyone (including me) or anything. Kind of like being in a vacuum. So much nothing. I've been drinking the past couple of days just to see if that makes me feel anything, but it doesn't. Think I really need to talk to someone on my 24/7 counselling line to get a fresh perspective, but that seems like too much effort. Will just take it easy today so I can be back at work tomorrow with a smile on my face... the thought of which also seems like an effort. Even emailing my psychologist seems such an effort...I mean, what could I say? It's difficult expalining something that I'm not really sure is anything to worry about. I'm sure this is just part and parcel of recovering from the bug. Hope you're feeling better soon.
