Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Overnight leave didn't go so well and I had to come back to hospital. I feel pathetic. As much as I hate it here I can't even spend a night at home. I'm stupid, fat, ugly, attention seeking, pathetic, useless, worthless, evil, sad, crazy, psychotic, and just messed up.

@Adge I like your honesty and about your past years and the possibility of looking for a partner in life.I have a Degree in Arts and Library Science plus a Diploma in Applied Science with Library Studies. Unfortunately, I didn't get as much out of my training as I would have liked. Thank you for your upfront way of telling it how it is and I hope life has still much to offer you whatever path you choose. With sincere well wishes from Bimby2

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

OverTheEdge I can't imagine how difficult that might be for you.

All I can say, without getting too deep into it, is that although I had a pretty good upbringing, I was a terror of a teen. I was drinking regularly, trying drugs, lying to my parents and going out all night. When I was 21 I had anorexia and lied through my teeth to my mum on a daily basis. I can't imagine the pain I have put her through. But now, 10 years on, we are as close as ever and I'm not like that anymore. I hope that you and your daughter can get through this and become close again. Maybe it's something she will do on her own? I know for me I made the realisation on my own that I didn't want to live like that anymore. I hope your daughter finds the right path soon too. Thanks for sharing with me xx

@Adge I hear you - I'm in a relationship but I'm not married or engaged and I want that commitment first. Sometimes I feel like I'm asking too much

That is the hope I hold onto and the answer to my prayers @Former-Member. I appreciate very much you sharing what you went through and the close relationship you have now with your mother. It really helped. Your mother would be proud of you now and that is all that matters. xxx

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I haven't had a relationship since my marriage ended about 6 & 1/2 years ago.

It's not lack of interest, I just don't meet women who are single or interested

I did the online dating thing a few years ago, because that was the most effective way of meeting people. It got me out going to places that I never would have gone otherwise.

Then it became dissolutioning, & I stopped trying so hard.

It's really much harder in this day of technology to get to know people face to face. There are social friendship groups that meet up regularly for get togethers in each State that you might find interesting @Adge. Personally I think interest, volunteering or friendship groups are the best way to meet that special someone. This way you can get to know someone really well without any initial pressure of a relationship. Friendship is a wonderful place to start.

Don't lose heart my friend, the right one is out there and you will find her when you are not looking and least expect it. 😊

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I came across this thread this morning and I've been chewing over whether to post or not. But there are thoughts racing around in my head wanting release. I'm a quiet person, live alone and people come into my life who need to offload. I'm a good listener and mostly happy to be that sounding board people need, but there are times I want to be part of the conversation also, you know, input sort of thing so I'm not just a set of ears, but a connected brain as well. Recently I had a situation that has left my head spinning, quite something for me. A lady came into my life and talked and talked and talked and and and. Then last week I had someone here and I wasn't available straight away. She was really rude on the phone and hung up. Then she just rocked up the next morning unannounced, she always did that. Firstly she didn't have the money she owed me, and without asking if it was ok, announced she couldn't pay for two more weeks. I was a little cold and she picked up the chill and asked why.....really.... I quietly said her behaviour on the phone was unacceptable.. She yelled abuse at me from my door to her car ending with F...YOU!!!!! Somehow I got inside and sat down wondering what I had done to deserve such behaviour. I couldn't come up with a thing as I can always find a reason. I have made up my mind that this is the last time I'm taking abuse from anyone. I hope I stick to it.
