Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

It's been a rough weekend.

Going shopping (groceries), yoga classes (great), & getting a massage (for stress relief & back pain) - are the only social outlets I have (usually).

They're not enough to counter dissociation (or overwhem.

Meaninful Social connections have always been the best antidote for being dissociated (mostly).

Yet my only friends live interstate & 2 hours drive away - so that's only occasional contact via telephone.

I've never been isolated by choice - yet feeling very isolated with so little personal face to face contact impacts immensely on my coping abilities & complex trauma symptoms (dissociation etc).

I don't know what else to say - this is just too hard. I don't want to keep on trying.

Sorry I'm not going to do anything silly.

sorry to hear that you feel that way @Adge I know I am not meant to reply. I promise I will be brief.

have you thought about skype with your internet friends, you could have a pyjama catch up, anything silly or fun or whatever. it would personalise the call and it is free.

i dont mean to come across as shallow either. i lost friends when i moved, an hour to hour and a half drive.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Thanks @Former-Member

No that's not shallow that's a good idea.

I lost nearly all my friends at once several years ago, when my marriage ended. I made a few new friends since then but then they disappeared.

Unfortunately no one I know is set up for or willing to do skype.

I used to do skype calls for team meetings - when I was a moderator on a child abuse survivors forum (the forum shut down).

I've not had anyone to do skype calls with since then.

The last time I saw my Dad before he died (last year) was via Skype, not in person - but at least we had that one skype call.

It'sa good idea.

@utopia @Shaz51

Thanks. Hugs are great.

People yelling & screaming around me today - clients, clients parents arguing fiercely & drunken people at the railway station.

It affects me badly.

They have no thought of how their behavior affects other people.

I don't deserve to be subjected to that - no one does. It's so intimidating.
