Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Hi @TheVorticon@Adge@utopia@Former-Member@Mazarita@Spookytookims@CheerBear@Former-Member@Former-Member @Former-Member,

I just wanted to let you all know that I went along to my meeting and I survived. Wow, this idea of reframing things and staying focused on what I can get out of a challenging situation really works. As does the idea of deliberately focusing on my body posture to trick my brain into thinking I'm relaxed when I'm really not, and thereby actually becoming more relaxed. It was hard work and after this third meeting, I'm still not at all sure that committees and I are ever going to be a great match. But hey, if sitting on committees is what I need to do to change the world, then so be it. I survived, I contributed, I didn't explode or go into crisis...so all in all I think that counts as success. Yay for me. Thank you all for your support, it super helped. Oh and I don't want a response to this post either - if I did, it wouldn't be here in the worry room.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Worried tonight because about an hour ago we received an email to say the rental flat we live in is being sold. Have been through this process of multiple entries and open inspections twice before as tenants. It's really a nightmare for someone like me. Where I live is my sanctuary from the outside world and social anxiety. To have it invaded by a lot of people inspecting it, with the added burden of having it as clean as possible for every single inspection, is really terribly daunting. Both times we've been through this process of selling places we lived in the past, we also had the additional nightmare of having to move out at the end of it all because the people who bought were owner/occupiers rather than investors. The only positive in this situation now is that we have a lease until next January, so even if the flat is bought by an owner/occupier, they won't be able to move in until then.

The additional problem is that it sounds as though everything needs to move quickly. However my 82-year-old mum and an old friend from Victoria are due here for a week from next Tuesday. I haven't seen my mum for over a year. They have a holiday apartment on the beach where they are staying. But I will be spending all my time with them and have no time to clean or be dealing with all this sale of unit stuff. I've sent an email to our property manager to tell her we won't be able to start with all this until my mum leaves. But I don't know if she will be willing to make allowances for that.

So begins a very stressful time for me.

Feel free to respond or not as you wish. I won't be able to walk away from this worry for quite some time.
