Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

@Former-Member. Don't worry. Often someone else's post sneaks through before ours. It makes for interesting reading sometimes. Lol
@Mazarita. What awful timing. Your mum and friend are coming for a week - yes? Then the agent should be able to postpone for that period. If you have any problems with them not allowing you this time - talk to the Tenancy Board to facilitate on your behalf.
Tenants have rights. As being that you and your carer are the most affected by this, you should be given a weeks reprieve.

@Mazarita. I can only imagine how stressful this is for you now. I would struggle immensely too. I am crossing fingers for you that it is as least interruptive as possible and the new owners are investors more than happy to keep you long term.

@Former-Member The heart is for you too. I smiled because I know what it feels like when we get ourselves in a pickle posting here. Please remember that we all know and care for you and know how caring you are. You are never misinterpreted and people here are usually able to work out what's going on with posts when they don't follow. Be gentle on you, we all are.

Hugs to both of you. 💜🤗

Thanks, @utopia, it is awful timing and an awful thing to go through at any time for me. My experience of living in commercial rental housing since birth, is that I have had to live in a semi-gypsy state over my entire life, never finding a permanent home. I really worry about future housing options too, as the commercial rents where I am just keep rising at a rapid rate. It makes me angry how little are the rights of tenants and how much of an open slather is given to owners and agents. Something as crucial as housing should not be so much at the mercy of investor whim. There really needs to be more safeguards put in place for us tenants, but it just never happens and mostly just keeps getting worse. With any luck, the property manager will be reasonable about the sudden notice of selling and the timing with my mother's arrival. I'm staying calm about it as much as I can but lurking inside is a little volcano of feeling about it.

@Former-Member, thank you too for your kind words and image.

@Mazarita. Does your agent know your situation re health and mental health issues? I ended up telling my last landlord that I struggled immensely with anxiety and mental health issues especially surrounding inspections. I asked that inspections be in school holiday time so the kids could help and be there and she did. She changed her whole attitude towards me and was lovely. I know it doesn't change what's about to happen but they may be a little more accomodating. Just a thought. 😘

@Former-Member, at the first inspection of the new property manager, I tried to mention to her that I had physical illness issues and she just wasn't interested. She brushed it off really fast and started talking about something else. I don't think that particular avenue of allowance is going to be available here. It's a good thought though, thank you.

Yes, it does feel a bit that way @Former-Member. But I don't want you to worry about it too much. I'll be experiencing a lot of anxiety and general discomfort about it along the way, but I will survive.

I know you're a survivor @Mazarita but it doesn't make it any easier and it's still unfair. Here with you for the long haul. 💜🤗😘💐
