Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

@Former-Member

I'm really sorry that you feel this way. I've tried resolving this online and openly with the hope that both people could feel heard.

Unfortunately, this conversation has moved into a territory where people are feeling disrespected. As this is discussion is longer productive, I'm temporarily shutting down this thread. All posts related to this discussion will be removed also.

@Former-Member please do get in touch with management tomorrow. @NikNik, the community manager, is working tomorrow so feel free to contact her or whoever you see fit.

Best wishes,

May God wrap his arms around you so tightly that you will be left in with no question how much he loves you. Ask for his strength when yours is depleated. And know your are doing the best you can. My heart goes out to you and i will be praying very hard for your family. God Bless @Former-Member

I have discovered through a lot of hard experience that though it may take 2 to tango, only one aggressor can start conflict.

I need to write this down and try to walk away. I have been in my head all day and are paralysed by my thoughts. I've tried to win the battle all day and turn it around but I'm failing and in a losing battle. For the last hour I've been debating writing this down and what my need is to do so. I think I just need someone in the world to know that I'm feeling so low. I don't need a response but sometimes a like helps me to know I've been heard and therefore not alone.

My battle today is the self hatred and anger one. It's defaulting to SH and SI at every turn. All the strategies and advice I've had in the past has turned into shoulds and driving me to want to turn it all off again but I know I can't. Some of the urges have been strong but I guess I'm still here writing this so I must be winning at something. I have soooooo many fears that are eating me up. I'm questioning my capacity to deal with things at every level and the battle keeps raging on and on. I am so tired of these days. There are too many of them.

My worry is that I don't think I have the capacity to do this thing called life.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I worry obsessively about my future. I am a single parent and my eldest daughter has type 1 diabetes. I want so much to give my daughters a better life. I have spent most of my time since being diagnosed trying to plan a way for us to have a better life but the stress of being the only one trying to change things for them means I end up in a heap. When I make big plans I get unwell and stress and lose sleep and end up back in hospital. This time I'm taking it one day at a time. I haven't been to hospital since my daughter got diagnosed with type 1. She needs me to make sure she's eating and having her insulin at the correct times. Financially it's tough. I don't have anything on my resume since 2009. But my case manager gave me an information brochure about being a peer support worker. This time I'm not jumping in gung ho with guns blazing (usually manic) thinking I can be superwoman. I'm sitting with it. The time I have with my kids is precious. I'm lucky that I'm able to be there for them 110% but I also work hard dealing with my mental illness to be the best mum I can be for them. I'm tired. I got private health for us all so that my daughter can commence pump therapy in august and so that if I get unwell, I can hopefully get a bed quite quickly and even get out more quickly. But like I said my main focus is staying well and out of hospital altogether. So yeah I worry. Thanks for reading and letting me vent.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@CherryBomb. Good thread, I only just discovered it this morning while browsing.

I think I could probably hang out in the worry room full time. I guess I worry a lot.

In fact someone said to me the other day "Is there anything you dont worry about?"

I had to think long and hard about this question, so I was unable to give them an immediate answer.

Upon trying to think of just one thing in everyday life (all my legitimate and understandable worries aside) that I dont actually worry about - there is nothing! I worry about everything. No wonder I'm an over anxious highly depressed individual.

Being on here seems to be worse for me than intentionally being alone. In terms of "worry" I do worry about people who come across the same obstacles and barriers to connecting with people and have similar experiences when they look for support. How it may warp their character, their interpretations of what makes sense, and numb the regard they may have otherwise had for others. And people wonder why kids shoot up schools ffs
