Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I hear you @Phoenix_Rising. I only have mild issues and gave up on psychologists/counesllors a couple of years ago. Same kinda thing, feeling like they just didn't care, no matter how many I tried. Hold on, mate, it'll be ok. We care, and we're here to hear you.

Hello @oceangirl

Also good to hear from you - I was actually just thinking about you 🙂

I am not too bad. I have managed to get my sleep pattern back to a routine the last three days, so feel better for that. I have been busy volunteering this past week and also found that very fulfilling. But sadly the chair lady of the community centre wants to close down such a vital community service. This will let countless down who need the centre not only for assistance with food - but for someone to talk to, a smile and a laugh. For their emotional well being. I am feeling quite devastated about this and the fact this woman has strayed from her original ideals and values. She ran the operation - but was rarely there to see the good that was being done.

The CEO of the large corporation that bought the building we are in (they are bulldozing it to build a service station etc) - came in to see my husband in the shop yesterday. It was a surprise visit. He stayed for awhile and was quite moved by seeing the people in need whom came into the shop asking for help in so many ways. Most are experiencing very hard circumstances that is heartbreaking to hear. He said to my husband "why can't this woman see how important this service is to the community?" We were gobsmacked as we didn't think he would care. He was quite upset and is going to talk to the chair lady on our behalf to convince how important it is to keep our charity going!! I hope he gets somewhere. She is the type of person who can't be told and acts like a dictator - at the expense of others misery now. She does suffer from depression and this behaviour is out of character for her.

This has been laying on me heavily. As has my daughter's recent decline again (she got hurt once again through reckless relations and self destructive behaviour). It's a continuing battle but ironically I feel stronger in myself. I have to be.

My thyroid is playing up though and my weight won't budge. I am not obese but would like to lose abit of weight to be fitter and take the strain off my back (I am a very small framed tall person) - will speak to my doctor about this to see if there is anything more I can do for my thyroid.

I enjoyed today - went shopping and treated myself to some clothes and jewellery. Also looked at buying a couple of lazy boy leather recliners that are very comfy with good lumbar and neck support functions. I love to sit back in a comfortable chair after a hard day's work. Perked me up, and I like getting out with hubby.

How are you now? Are you feeling better?

Hi @Former-Member 💖💖💖

I just wrote you a long message but I have lost it- poor internet connection and auto save didn't work.

Its nice to know you are thinking of me, my friend. I am sorry to hear about your daughter and her inner struggles. I am hoping she will outgrow the stage she is at and will stop making the same mistakes in relationships. I know her MI is quite complex, and wishing her the best and you too. I know you said previously that you wish you could fix her and probably to make everything right for her- I think most parents would want to do that for their children. I know they say you should let you child make their own mistakes and its part of the growing up & maturing phase but I have concerns about that because she is vulnerable and if she could make good decisions and not in position to be taken advantage of, I think you would let her make her own way. I am hoping this making sense. I am just saying this out of concern and care for you, your husband and daughter. She may need some guidance and direction has to where to go next in terms of employment, education and relationships. I think part of the problem with BPD is that you don't want her to jeopraize her future and earning capacity because of her mental illness. Because what seems important to her now probably will not be important even next year or in the next few years. More important to direct her to focus on what she is good at and perhaps aviod dating for a while until she has more stability in her life.

I am sadden too by the possible closure of the community centre and hopefully the CEO will talk to the chair lady in relation to the possible closure. Perhaps you could do some more research in terms of finding ways to keep the centre operational and discussing your findings with her and how you could keep the centre up and running. I guess its probably in a great location too and that would make it diffcult if you can't find suitable relocation of the premises.

Btw I am happy to hear about your progress and you gaining more strength and that your sleep has improved. I hope you can get your thyroid under better control and your weight can drift a bit- perhaps a change in exercise and intensity is needed and I find reducing stress can kickstart the metabolism.

Nice to read you went out and treated yourself today with clothes and jewellery and looked at some new lazy boy's leather recliners. Those recliners are the best. You do need something with good lumber and neck support functions. I love sitting back in my recliners too and so comfy and its cozy to watch TV too.

I have made some decisions- I have decided to go back into hospital for a short admission. I am otherwise good and feeling better after being accepted back in the clinic. I feel really comfortable there and it made a huge difference in my previous admission. The last time I went in it was when the other forum was working. Thinking of you too my friend. Look after you !!

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Thanks for the lovely post @oceangirl It really is frustrating when we lose a long one 😫

I think I remember you going into hospital when on BB. Now you are testing my memory. Wasn't the hospital in Queensland and you were not allowed contact with anyone? Or something along those lines? My how time flies. I think I remember you saying it was mainly therapy based treatment (which I would be more comfortable with) Mention ECT and I would run!!

It sounds like it will be good for you my friend - especially seeing you have already had a good experience there. When do you go in and for how long? Will miss you on here for awhile but this is what's best for you now. I wish you every success with it and that it helps you sort those things out that lay heavily on your mind.

Still raining here today. Think I will go for a walk when it eases, do some sewing and then wonder down the shops again for a few things. Enjoy your Sunday my friend. Sending you warm hugs 🤗💕xx

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Your welcome my friend @Former-Member💖💖💖

It was back when we where on BB. It was down in Sydney (Northern Beaches). Still not allowed visitors and limited contact outside the hospital- only a few phone calls a week. You are too right I would run if they mention anything about ECT treatment, I prefer to be admitted somewhere where that is not offered.

After my first admission even my Dad mention how much better I looked and that it did my a world of good going down there. I am booked in for this coming Thursday, its only a short admission (two weeks). I have been busy getting organized today because I have my mum staying at my place, I have been shopping today for her and got all the heavy items so she doesn't have to carry them, and I have cooked up a few meals for her and I have left her some money to go out for dinner while she is her.

I am in much better place mentally then I was when I was admitted the first time and I am not putting much expectation on myself but I am hoping for a good outcome from the admission. Its been a bit cooler her the last few days, I love this time of year. I went to the gym earlier and I have not long got home from the shops. I hope you had a happy Sunday.

You're sounding good @oceangirl. It's beautiful that you've done so much for your Mum. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.
I'll be thinking of you during your spell in hospital.
Wishing you the very best outcomes.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hi @oceangirl

It is wonderful that you do so much for your mother especially given that you have been struggling with anxiety (I know how much harder this would make the sacrifice); a testimony of the beautiful person you are. And you do seem stronger. Is your father with you too?

Yes it has been cooler and overcast/raining the last few days - this is the most glorious time of year, I agree. And I have been taking advantage of it by doing some "Autumn cleaning". I also did some exercise in the hope to boost my metabolism and to help my thyroid function better (not sure if it would make much difference but have to try everything - this girl doesn't wave the white flag easily). Am quite exhausted now.

Yes the Northern beaches of Sydney have some wonderful private hospitals (and weather as well 😉), and this will benefit you greatly I feel as it has done in the past. Do they also concentrate on physical causes of anxiety etc or is it just mainly learning coping strategies etc? Sounds like a good place to be for that special attention and care. I will also be thinking of you while you are in there my friend and will touch base before you go in on Thursday. Hope you had a relaxing evening. Sending warm hugs your way 🤗💕🌹xx
