Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

I took my Pug for a walk in the sunshine. We went for about an hour. There were lots of annoying people about, especially the kind who think it's okay to make their dog 'say hello to your dog' without asking you first. I think it's very f***ing rude. And very ignorant about canine behaviour.

I didn't know how to handle it. The woman and her dog were suddenly right in our faces. I guess I was being polite but I'm annoyed with myself that I let it happen. People are overstepping your boundaries all the time. Next time I see her and her dog I will be ready. Rude, presumptuous b*tch.

Also, I really wanted to go on a long walk by myself but I didn't have the time. Lately I find walking my Pug frustrating and not enjoyable, and when I came home I felt just as irritable as I did when I had left. It's a long story but I didn't have my Pug desexed until he was 18 months old, so he has the physiology of an 'entire' dog and he stops to mark constantly. It drives me nuts because I like to walk fast and keep moving. I will feel better once I have my bike and I can ride every day.

Aaarrgh. Feeling very annoyed and irritable right now. My therapist is supposed to call me soon.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Had pdoc appointment via phone because of lockdown. He rang 1/2 hour late to start of with. I told him things were ok when actually things have been getting worse lately. I did tell him about my increase in sh and his response was to increase some of my meds.

I hate these phone appointments, I hate talking on the phone, I hate not being able to at least see his face. I know I should be grateful for at least being able to talk to him when others have no one to talk too. It is my fault that I wasn't honest with him. How can he help me when I don't tell him how I am really going.

Arrrrgh I hate myself.

@Snowie

You've already done some amazing reflection which suggests you might be more open to being more honest with him next time you speak?

All the best- it's not easy stuff but you're navigating it 💞💐 And we're all here for you

Thanks @Former-Member

now I am meant to wait another 3 weeks to talk to him again. I can't do that, I don't want to, I hate this

@Snowie 3 weeks, gosh I hate how long waiting periods / time between appointments can be

In the meantime, if it helps you get through, there's always the forums community here, SANE counselling, SANE peer support, Lifeline, and any of your other usual/preferred support options including loved ones ✨

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Hello @Snowie

You are not alone when you talk about not saying how things really are. It has often been difficult for me, as I'm sure it has for others, from other member's comments on the site, that

"telling it like it really is" can be difficult, whether on the phone or face to face.

“

However, it is more distressing when we know that our responses are an inglorious cover for our own insecurity, expressed by claiming "I'm ok", partly because we think that it is not ok to say that we are “not ok”. Often times it can be, when we most need help and assistance, that we perversely go into some sort of self-protection or self-defence mode and present ourselves as being in a better place than we really are.

“

On the site here, we are also concerned for others, in their difficulties. I believe that there may be a type of conflict arise, where we need to see ourselves on top of things, in order to be able to offer support to and for others, as I know that you often do. And then we have to face our own difficulties and, as a result, perceive ourselves to be somehow less than we think that we 'should' be. This is the time to be kind to ourselves, in just the same way that we like to care for and be kind to others.

“

Easier said than done??!! But, at least, if we recognise that difference, between the way that we approach the difficulties that others describe and experience, and the way that we approach our own distress, we may be able to bring the two closer to each other, and thus recognise the need, and make requests for support from family, friends, professionals and forum members, where and when appropriate, and as they are available. As well as being more kind to ourselves, and rather than reprimand and beat ourselves up, give ourselves some nurturing, both verbal and physical.

“

Snowie, I hope that you will allow yourself to feel better about yourself and that the rest of the day and the week will improve for you.

“

Wth My Very Best Wishes

I'm feeling Very Used & Drained, at the moment.

So many Appointments - 2 every day at least.

All of last week & this week, as well.

The Neurologist Appointment was a waste of $, time & energy - My fingers are numb (little sensation), yet do nothing about it.

At least the 2 Dentist Appointment got me my 2 broken teeth fixed.

A Gardening Job that I applied for -

Instead of an Interview (there was no interview) - He scheduled me to do 1 & 1/2 hours Gardening (for a Client) this morning, whilst he supposedly "Assessed my Performance".

So he got 1 & 1/2 hours of free Labour out of me (this morning) - Then told me that I did not get the Job, because I did not work as Super-Fast as he did.

That 1 & 1/2 hours Cost me a Huge amount in energy (probably equivalent to 3 or 4 hours) - I struggled to drive home (for a Break), before my next Appointment.

Yet I got absolutely Nothing for my efforts - "Thanks for your Free Labour, Goodbye"....

Hello @Adge

I would suggest that you inform your employment provider of that situation. They may or may not know of this situation. It is certainly neither satisfactory nor legal.

Cheers

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Hi @Adge

I agree with @HenryX and @Arizona

You must tell your experience to the right people,

This is wrong you have been very wronged, this person is lucky it wasn't me.

The what if's, like no induction at a work site, what would have happened if you physically hurt your self.

And none payment of wages is illegal in Australia on any level.

The excuse of your not as fast as me.?
Sounds like he has done this before.
Please, tell the right people, and good on you for getting in there and giving it a go.

But please today, look after you.😍from your Clawde.
