Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@outlander I think at times when others do comment it just makes it worse, it did muck me up to the point of where I am today with my own mental state.
I am struggling to find myself from it and my own voice.

@outlander the last couple of days I have felt shock. I feel like everything that happened has just hit. I don't know myself anymore.

@outlander I also feel so hipocritical as now I am broken beyond repair I am LOST and my world is a mess. I feel like my ex went around and told me I was this and that until I became this and that and now I am just devastated I was baited right from the beginning. I can't deal with it

im not really sure what you mean by 'others make things worse'? @Former-Member they dont have to give you their experiences in DV but could support you if you needed to talk to someone as well. we are all quite respectful here and often dont overcrowd people- meaning if one or 2 people are already supporting you the others might take a step back so you dont get overwhelmed even more- does that help at all?

its hard when reality hits, really hard but try to remind yourself your safe. your not in that situation now. you said you wanted to go with your daughter somewhere to escape- what about a holiday? or a day trip somewhere out fo your city for the day?

@outlander Everything he said to me I had in my head, It was after it where his voice is still in my head. I think i abused other people from him being in my mind and now I am too messed up. I had men in particular abuse me after it all over again as well. I don't talk to hardy anyone anymore

@outlander I want too but my daughter needs to be in school. I feel selfish doing anything good for my health

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

your talking to me ok @Former-Member im hearing and understanding what your saying.

DV affects people in more than one way. i hear and see stories quite often about the effects of it and its hard to deal with on your own. would you be willing to talk to a mh professional?

you need to take care of yourself first- how can you care for her if you dont look after yourself too? taking care of yourself isnt selfish. what about on a weekend? or the school holidays are coming up? so is easter and its a long weekend? what about organising something for during those times?

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@outlander I used to now I don't. The last time violence occurred he told me I was a s**t mother and now I feel like I have become a s**t mother from the trauma my daughter was given alcohol and I stood up and got physically assaulted for reacting to the things he was saying. Now i just feel like him because I am battling my own addictions from the ptsd and attacking others

tears are here again.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

none of this is your fault @Former-Member you arent responsible for his actions or thoughts, thats in his own hands and it shouldnt have happened in the first place. and your not a sh*t mother, you are struggling and its hard to try and take care of yourself and others. you are doing the best you can with your daughter with how your coping and thats enough. please take care of yourself, is there anything nice you could do today before your daughter gets home-like reading a fave book, watching a movie you like, a nice hot bubbles bath, baking your favourite treat, or anything else you like to do?
