I feel...

I feel...

I feel desperately lonely yet, I feel like I don't belong anywhere. I don't belong in the 'Normal' world because I am tarred with the brush of mental ill health, yet because I've sort of stabilised now, I don't belong with my former peers either. I feel beige, uncoloured and boring with no emotion really even though if I had to say anything it is gutted. I feel trapped in a world I don't want and didn't ask for, yet whenever I try and break the shackles of failure, I am thrust back into the dark and reminded yet again of my failures (my Father is a constant person to remind me). I feel alone, even in a crowded room. I feel unheard, even if I am screaming loudly.

I guess I am just searching for something and not sure what.

Does anyone else feel beige?

Re: I feel...

Hearing voices group was a round-robin discussing and normalising our voice hearing experiences which was good. I've been referred to their other centre for hearing voices groups on Wednesdays, but the MIL had a fit because that's apparently her day to do stuff, so I miss out again. I can't get there by myself as it is in another location. I feel disappointed in that I was trying to help myself and I have to miss out yet again. So much so I feel like moving out on my own.

@Bunniekins it is so complicated having to keep the MIL happy. She has 'issues' too.

@Queenie You are in a very hard position ... I can feel the stress in your words .... I wish I had words to fix the problem but I dont. All I can say is that I hear you Queenie and wish life wasn't so tough for you.

Re: I feel...

@Queenie Yes I am in a 'similar' position with family members with mi problems and 'dancing between' sums it up perfectly. I feel like that is what I am doing at the moment. Is there any way that someone else could drive you there the the group that is.

Re: I feel...

It's frustrating really. I am afraid of public transport otherwise I'd catch a bus. I can't afford to take a taxi or uber to the city both ways each week and there's nobody else to take me unfortunately, so the Queenie misses out yet again. I was ready to pack up my belongings and leave yesterday after getting home. I wasn't welcomed, rather I was ignored the whole day. I was in tears by 6pm and packing my stuff. I don't want to be somewhere nobody wants me around, I'd rather be by myself to be honest if that is the case. I don't like company for company's sake, I've done that most of my life and it doesn't work. Yesterday felt like it was undoing all the hard work I put in all week at the recovery house, it was just so disappointing.

Today I just don't want to be here in this house. I've been googling units to rent instead.

Re: I feel...

@Queenie that sounds hard hopefully you can find a solution that works for you.

Re: I feel...

Thanks @Eden1919 xx

I spent the afternoon secretly Googling real estate options but the bad thing is unless I want another really unsafe neighbourhood again, I cannot afford to live in the city again by myself. I had a public housing unit, but I gave that up to live here. I doubt I'll get another as I am not homeless or at risk of domestic violence. Add to that things like a refrigerator was sold off cheap as storage ran out.

Re: I feel...

@Queenie that is frustrating i suppose as long as you are safe where you live though that is the main thing. still it is not an easy thing to deal with.

Re: I feel...

Just putting it out there, I feel pink!

I feel awesome! Long may it continue. I've had a productive week so far which has added to my already good mood. The Mrs is holding steadfast with her refusal to help me get to the hearing voices group, but I've learned I can pick the brains of the man who runs the local group on Tuesday evenings. I'll miss the group per se but I can always catch up with what is happening with peer support surrounding it. It's a simple bus I am familiar with (so it isn't so bad).

Things are looking up! 🙂
