I feel...

I feel...

I feel desperately lonely yet, I feel like I don't belong anywhere. I don't belong in the 'Normal' world because I am tarred with the brush of mental ill health, yet because I've sort of stabilised now, I don't belong with my former peers either. I feel beige, uncoloured and boring with no emotion really even though if I had to say anything it is gutted. I feel trapped in a world I don't want and didn't ask for, yet whenever I try and break the shackles of failure, I am thrust back into the dark and reminded yet again of my failures (my Father is a constant person to remind me). I feel alone, even in a crowded room. I feel unheard, even if I am screaming loudly.

I guess I am just searching for something and not sure what.

Does anyone else feel beige?

Re: I feel...

Well forumites, it was a very trying day today. My Father dropped off the remainder of my belongings and then left with not so much as one word to me. All the way home I kept reiterating that I loved him and despite all the water under the bridge, I did want him in my life. He didn't even acknowledge I said anything. I feel totally devastated. I talked to my support worker today and will see her again tomorrow, it's just a horrible experience having to mourn the loss of someone who is still alive.

Re: I feel...

Thank you @outlander, I am sure in time the emotional scars will heal.

It is just a grief and loss journey I have to now embark upon. The hardest part was bringing all of my photos that were up at his house in from the rain where he left them. It wasn't a nice experience at all. I just don't understand what it was that I did so wrong. I really wanted to have another couple of sessions with my psychologist, but am not eligible for a new MHP until next year (I could never afford to pay for the sessions myself). I am sort of left professionally lingering.

Re: I feel...

oh @Queenie that is really terrible! im so sorry! you havent done anything wrong! i think your father has his own problems and he cant work them out himself. it has nothing to do with you and that was uncalled for, it really is.

hmm that is a problem isnt it.... can you try for another arrangemnet of some sort, a regular session with a helpline maybe?

Re: I feel...

I don't know @outlander. I honestly didn't know you could have 'sessions' with a helpline? All the helplines I've ever contacted like Lifeline, QLife and such stipulate it is not for ongoing counselling sessions. I am kind of stuck really. I am learning things at my Acceptance & Commitment therapy group, but it is more like a workshop, not really counselling or anything. I feel like I can't open up to my Mrs or anyone else about it really (except for here), as they run my Father down. I've always had respect for the Old Man, despite what he does to me and how I am treated. Warped senses I have, I know!

Re: I feel...

Hmm well im not too sure about those. Khl does that so thats where i go the idea from. Maybe you could look into it or when things get tough just connect with someone. Even sane or if they are closed betondblue is open all hours of the night too.

Im hearing you. I dont open up much except for on here and when i do well you seen through my orher thread what happens.

I understand the mourning whilst they are still alive. I do thay someties with my father. I had him on my fb you know and he still couldnt accept i was his daughter *shakes head* all well its his loss and its your father's loss too.

Yeah its the same with my mother tbh. It happens here sometimes too. I lovw my mother cant say the same for me but its hard when people constanlty tell me what i already know. It just makes me more upset so when that happens i leave online or offline and just get out of the situation.

In saying that... would you like to talk about your father at all or do you think that would make you more upset? @Queenie
