I feel...

I feel...

I feel desperately lonely yet, I feel like I don't belong anywhere. I don't belong in the 'Normal' world because I am tarred with the brush of mental ill health, yet because I've sort of stabilised now, I don't belong with my former peers either. I feel beige, uncoloured and boring with no emotion really even though if I had to say anything it is gutted. I feel trapped in a world I don't want and didn't ask for, yet whenever I try and break the shackles of failure, I am thrust back into the dark and reminded yet again of my failures (my Father is a constant person to remind me). I feel alone, even in a crowded room. I feel unheard, even if I am screaming loudly.

I guess I am just searching for something and not sure what.

Does anyone else feel beige?

@Former-Member, please do rave long over in that thread, any time you wish. Plenty of raving rooms to go around.

Re: I feel...

It's okay @Former-Member. I wasn't able to get online yesterday as I was super busy (back to the everday stressors again). At respite, the care workers spend a lot of the time with the less functioning guests. Because I am viewed as high functioning, I am pretty much left to my own devices. I felt like I was imposing if I asked for assistance or support. I don't like to impose, so I just struggled alone.

A good example is I was to the largest shopping centre in the region alone. I got hopelessly lost and kind of freaked out. I managed to ask someone in a bank for the way to where I needed to be (I was on the verge of tears at this point). The worker wasn't all that worried/concerned when I turned up back at respite and told them what happened.

No need for apologies @Former-Member. You've said nothing wrong.

I feel really nervous forumites! My course (and pathway into Uni) starts tomorrow! I fell asleep so early last night and sleep right through to lunchtime. I can't do that tomorrow.

Re: I feel...

I'm home from respite @outlander. My break from the stress was only for 5 nights. I saw my GP yesterday for review but as I was the last patient of the day, she rushed me without saying anything. I found out that while my application for NDIS is going smoothly so far, it is because I'm unlikely to receive anything. This means there will be no respite in the future (you must be an NDIS participant). This is disappointing really, all because I'm viewed as 'high functioning'.

Re: I feel...

Hmm yes and its usually the high functioning people that need the most help @Queenie
I hope things go well though and try to just take it day by day
