I feel...

I feel...

I feel desperately lonely yet, I feel like I don't belong anywhere. I don't belong in the 'Normal' world because I am tarred with the brush of mental ill health, yet because I've sort of stabilised now, I don't belong with my former peers either. I feel beige, uncoloured and boring with no emotion really even though if I had to say anything it is gutted. I feel trapped in a world I don't want and didn't ask for, yet whenever I try and break the shackles of failure, I am thrust back into the dark and reminded yet again of my failures (my Father is a constant person to remind me). I feel alone, even in a crowded room. I feel unheard, even if I am screaming loudly.

I guess I am just searching for something and not sure what.

Does anyone else feel beige?

Re: I feel...

Voices are particularly distressing tonight. I am blasting music in my ears and I'm surviving on little sleep. I have been trying to keep calm and do some mindfulness meditation, but man it is so hard.

Rough night.

Re: I feel...

I did go for a walk earlier down the to the main road. Found a supermarket and walked around with the music blasting in my ears @outlander. The worker on tonight has been busy with another distressed guest, so I don't want to harass him. I tried to call my Mrs but she is busy watching a movie and can't be interrupted. I'm afraid I'll have to get through this one. I took my night meds ages ago but they haven't done a thing. Possibly I'm stressed? (I don't feel stressed here though). I keep on zoning out and if it wasn't for Grammarly correcting my mistakes, I wouldn't make any sense.

Re: I feel...

Outside stressors havent changed though @Queenie so you may have a few things on your mind. If you cant handle it they can help you. Its what they are there for too. The distressed guest will calm down and its still ok to say you need aome help. Im glad you went for a walk today though

Re: I feel...

Hello @outlander and @Former-Member.

Today I braved the largest shopping centre in the region and kind of wished I didn't go. I got hopelessly lost and distressed and made a big fool of myself. Then I almost missed my stop on the bus and almost wound up in the city. I won't be doing that again anytime soon. I'm going home tomorrow so everything will be okay in familiar surroundings I think. I haven't been sleeping too well but I think it is because my caffeine intake has increased dramatically and it is keeping me awake.

My room is nice. I listened to some meditation music last night and tried to focus really hard, but Asher kept butting in which wasn't pleasant. I ended up doing the 5 things grounding technique over and over, trying to pick different things each time. I've come to the conclusion that Summertime is the source of major blips for me. There are the triggers of Christmas and my birthday, plus the hot weather affects my medication negatively. Once Summer cools off into Autumn, hopefully, I'll settle a little.

Re: I feel...

Hey @Former-Member. This is just about the only place I don't feel totally invisible in the world. I should be here more often.

I'm probably just stressing.

Re: I feel...

@QueenieOne thing I have learnt is we seem to stress about so many more things (well I do) but sometimes we cannot help it. You have got so much going on atm, it is ok to get stressed.

I am glad you don't feel invisible on here.
