Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me
Thanks @Sans911 Just annoyed that some of the meds will take ages to work. Like I knew that was the case before hand but for him to actually say those words were hard to take in.
Also confirmed diagnosis that the psychologist said and have to go get bloods and ECG just to check that everything is ok there.
I will reach out if I need to ❤❤
How was your conference today?

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me
Thanks for asking about the conference. I've been busting with excitement about it since I left earlier today. I actually ran into a young woman who I did DBT with earlier in the year before the conference started, so it was lovely to catch up with her, but also to have someone to share the day with. I wish I could be more specific about the conference because it's so important and relevant to myself and lots of people with mental health issues, particularly certain diagnoses. That's all I can say without giving it away. But I found it really helpful as there was a wide range of people attending & presenting, from consumers, carers, clinicians and even members of parliament. The conference goals are to increase awareness, reduce stigma and to increase better provision of effective services. I've currently on a wait list for a public psychologist which is almost a 4months wait. So I was definitely interested in many aspects of the conference. I took some information away that I will share with my GP and case manager, which I hope they find useful.

Wow @Sans911 sounds like it was an amazing day. Yea, shame you can't be more specific but rules are rules! Sounds like you got a great deal out of it which is wonderful for you and also to help your GP and case worker.
I think it is so important to increase the services. It is just wrong that you have to wait that long. I am just lucky that mine is covered by workcover or else I would be on a waiting list too.
I think you are one of the most courageous people I have meet @Sans911 . With your MI you could have just curled up in a corner and given up, but instead you are trying to help yourself, educate yourself and help other people. Not many people would do that. You should be super proud of yourself.
I am so happy for you that it was such a positive experience for you. 💛❤💛❤

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me
But I've never been able to break down, and let myself 'go' and fall apart. Which I would love to do. And I've given up at times too, and had multiple SA. But each time I'm discriminated against, treated poorly by other health professionals makes me determined to prove them wrong. And I do want to live, but not with this level of pain & distress. I've gone as low as I can go, so it's only up from here. I will find a way back. And I will reach out my hand & heart for others suffering too and pull them back up with me.

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me
@Sans911 that last paragraph proves that you are courageous. I cannot for one minute understand your level of pain and distress but I can be there to help pull you back up just like you do for me and so many other people. I'm sorry you have been at that point of SA, I wouldn't wish that on any one, but I am glad you are here to prove them wrong.
You are a kind and compassionate person @Sans911 and I am going to keep telling you that!!
