Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me

@outlander thank you but I've actually hardly noticed it. It doesn't really change the way I am in the forums but it is a little empowering for me. I hope I can be of help to other members even more than what I am now.

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me

ok here it is

@Sans911@outlander@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member

So went and saw the psychiatrist for the first time today. His office was about an hour away. Was anxious before hand but I guess that was to be expected. It went for about an hour and a half and was really stressful. He asked a lot of question about all the traumas (no details of them), my daily life, my history, my moods, like I mean everything. For someone that struggles to open up to anyone, I was proud of myself that I did open up and that I got through it without having a panic attack

So have been placed on 3 different meds for depression, psychosis and sleep. The good thing is the sleep one will work straight away, the bad thing is the other two can take 4 weeks to see the full effects That makes me really anxious and stressed that I am going to have to wait a long time to see the full effects of these meds. I did tell him that I am really struggling now and not sure if I can last another 4 weeks for these meds to start. So a plan has been put in place to help me with that and he is going to consult with my psychologist and CAT team to make sure I can be as safe as possible. Don't know if it will help but I will at least try. So I have to wait another 3 weeks to see him as he had no earlier apps. avaliable.

So emotionally it was exhausting. I am just trying to control all my feelings at the moment as I still feel very anxious and unsettled. Just talking about my traumas without even going into any details, have stirred up a number of flashbacks this afternoon. Took me a long time to drive home because I had to pull over twice just to gain control of myself back. I am hoping tonight I can keep control of everything, only time will tell I guess.

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me

@Former-Member As I said before, I'm proud of you today. You have had a lot of hurdles to cross lately and yet this is another one in such a short space of time. So it's not unexpected, yet unpleasant, that you are unsettled right now. It's fantastic to hear that he's going to communicate with your CAT people & and psychologist. That's really important to have collaborative care so you get the best support and be safe as well. Don't be afraid to reach out hear or the helplines tonight even if it's just because you're anxious or unsettled. You don't have to be unsafe to ring a helpline. I know you're struggling right now, but actually you're doing ok. You're being incredibly brave and taking steps to take control of your life again. And that's not easy. Hugs and hugs
