@Former-Member
I agree with that rubber band picture - that's like my brain at the moment too.
My kids are older now but I remember it is very hard trying to organise a family and look after yourself too. Once my doctor told me 'feelings are not fact', so I just kept saying that to myself over and over. Even if I FELT like everything was bad, it might just be my brain tricking me sometimes. So I looked at the FACTS. I had to get up and get kids to school. Just break it down into steps - get up, shower, make breakfast etc.
A feeling doesn't have to come into it. Or if it does, try not to read too much into that feeling. Try not to let bad feelings overwhelm the situation. I know it all sounds a bit weird, but it sort of helped me because I was feeling too much and all the feelings were bad and negative and horrible. Just one thing at a time to get through this life. Just take baby steps...I hope this is a bit helpful. And sleep is definitely needed. Without sleep we all cannot function very well.
I hope you are going okay.

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me
Thanks for those wise words @girl99 and for your concern
Can certainly relate to it. I just concentrate on what I have to do that day so that their lives are as normal and happy as possible. Some days it is so overwhelming. And school holidays (which are now) are even harder. I have to pretend all day that everything is "ok", which makes it so much more exhausting. Luckily they are at the age where I can go to my room and get 15 minutes here and there to myself.
That picture is my head at the moment too. So many things going each and every way, no start, no middle, no end.
I have never heard of the phrase "feelings are not fact". I will have to remember that one and am up for trying anything at this stage. Baby steps is something I understand, it's all I can manage at the moment.
I hope you are going ok too.
Nell

I'm ok thanks @outlander, was either going to laugh or cry about earlier, so decided laughing was the best option!!
How are you going???? You have had a big day today and you have got a bigger day tomorrow. Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?
