Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline Personality Disorder

Hey guys. So here's the story. I'm a 24 yo health professional with a 3 month th old beautiful boy. Before and during my pregnancy I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression but didn't understand why I continued to be violent towards my partner by screaming and crying at 4am paranoid about everything and breaking doors when he would hide in there from me. J didn't find out until 3 months post partum that I had BDP. The day I was diagnosed my partner said he couldn't do it anymore and left me. He then said he still loves me but wants me to get help but I'm scared he will use this against me in court when it comes to custody with our son. I've called beyond blue, lifeline, saw my therapist and left messages ona local hospitals psychotherapy BDP program unit etc with zero replies. I can't seem to find the support I need. Even a little regular BDP group meetin would be so nice. It would feel so great for me to link with young women as well as many others with my condition. I feel so alone. I've lost so many relationships and feel like I'll never have a normal life or have people who will want to stay .....

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder

Sorry I was meant to say "stay strong" in my last post silly typos -.-
I know how you feel ! I've done mh crying and feel so alone and got called psychotic by my partner every time I had my panic attacks from 2-6am pacing back and forth wailing and shouting. It's just we have to be strong Hun, do the therapy, find a hobby and dress your best so you feel great ! I was watching this tv show and there was this interesting quite that made sense. "The key to happiness is to find someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to". Go ahead plan that vacation and go for it even if it's just to Queensland for a few days I'll be going soon seriously grew the world ! Do a short course (I've done a Zumba instructor course and I speak 5 languages because I kept doing personal study to battle my anxiety and depression) and if you can't find a good partner then screw it let him/her come to you. A positive person will only attract another positive person ! It's just taking that step outside the house all alone is the hardest part but I'm slowly doing it and Hun you can too ! I'm sorry we won't exchange personal messages here but just remember I am sending good vibes from my end to yours and remember you're not alone !! I felt like that before I every joined this forum but it'll be OK and that's the truth . "This too shall pass" ❤️

@sadmama you have really have the best posts and u give me a lil hope as it was all gone I have been thinking for the last week taking my life is the best thing for myself and the world but have decided to take the hard way and try this now that it's not depression as I thought I was unfixable as I have been on so many diff meds but maybe I can be fixed

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder

there is hope @Aussiej @sadmamaand while recovery isnt easy it is possible. im still getting help through MH professionals. ive only been diagnosed with BPD for the past few months but have learnt abit about it in that time. not as much as id hoped but recovery is also about learning.

ive been in the position of wanting to end my life and making attempts. i really advise not to do that. there is hope and there is that light in the tunnel even when you cant see it. my family dont support me nor do i have any friends. when i told my family i was struggling, do you know what they said to me 'stop attention seeking, your making your life harder than what it really is' they still continue to say that now despite my SH, suicidal thoughts and attempts and hospital admissions.

people who havent expereinced mental illness themselves have a very hard time understanding it so get defensive when things they dont understand happen such as panic attacks when all they have to do is sit with us help us breathe through it and we can be on our way.

i get it. ive been there and still continue to be there but i can tell you it does get easier and it does get better. sure at the moment i have more bad days than good BUT the good days still come and those are the ones we have to hold onto when things get tough.

you dont need 'fixing' you need to learn to cope and to manage the disorder and mental illnesses. depression is called a 'shadow' for a reason and that is becasue it follows and lurks around every corner ready to strike. people with BPD are also over sensitive to even the minor things.

please dont give up on yourself casue we arent. we are here to support and guide and help you the best we can

dont be afraid to ask for help EVER! its nothing to be ashamed of as others may think but to me its a sign of strength. its not easy to admit you need help and its very brave.

never take getting help as a sign of weakness take it as a strength
