Re: not coping

i still have one meal a day @NatureLover and on the better days i still have some snacks in the day but small or have a biscuit or 2 with my tea. i actually dont normally have breakfast and lunch is generally only small anyway so its not a huge difference. the pain and overbearing nausea are the things that are mostly different atm.

Re: not coping

im abit worried about what the gastroenterologist says. ive been doing some research into what i could do now to try and help symptoms but what the basic ones that i can do im already doing like eating healthy, eating small meals, even not wearing certain types of clothing such as belts or anything that puts pressure on abdoment, taking a reflux meds and anti-nausea to help symptoms and avoiding any triggering foods so i dont know whats next. so many things say if its not controlled by meds and/or lifestyle then usually it means a surgery.

Re: not coping

No doubt you are worried hun, it is a lot to take in.

Its good that you are doing things already to help yourself, but I know there are still lots of questions to be answered.

Hopefully you get some more answers soon whether that be lifestyle changes or surgery. I am hoping for your sake it is not surgery @outlander

It still doesn't sound very much to me @outlander but then again I'm a foodie. You're pretty amazing to deal with the pain and nausea every day and night.

I also hope it's not a surgery @outlander .

Re: not coping

its not even the surgury itself @Snowie its what others will say and how im suppose to organise pop and the horses when i barely have any help as it is. i struggled to get 4 days help when i had the dental op let alone a few weeks. ive done all the lifestyle changes unless theres other meds that cna be tried but ive done and still do everything that can be done in a lifestyle way.

Re: not coping

It is concerning when you have to worry about what others say if you need surgery hun @outlander

I can say that it is not a certain yet and not to worry about something that you cannot control, but I know realistic that our brains do not work that way.

I hope if it gets to that, then your mother will step up and give you the support you deserve but I know that might not happen.

Sitting with you sweetheart

Re: not coping

and what about my work too? i mean theres only 3 that id have to let know but they hired me as a long term thing not as someone who is constantly sick. i know theres not much i can do if i need surgery except maybe ask to wait a few months till i sort out thing. i will have to pay for extra home care. its sad but i know its also a reality as well. no ones going to stop work to come over here and look after pop when they dont even see him as 'much work'
its not just mum either, it means she would have the kids more and her and her partner would have to juggle the kids as well as work (normal i know) but its not 'our normal' right now.
how stupid does that sound though 😞 who gets afraid of what people say for being sick or needing something as told by a medical professional
