Re: not coping

This is always a very active thread in the night...I'm sorry that all of you have trouble sleeping. And I'm sorry to read about your SI, @outlander and @Sans911 😞 😞

I'm sad to read that you've had yet another disappointing /upsetting medical appointment, @outlander ...I'm really crossing my fingers that something will turn a corner for you for the better very soon.

thanks @NatureLover
there are lots of nightowls and some members are in different states with different times too.
Sans is in WA so she is 2 hours behind most states so usually early for her when its late for us.

yeah im kinda sad and confused too. I was hoping for some good news too.

Re: not coping

when I went and see the gynae yesterday for a review because what I currently have in place to manage symptoms etc isn't working that well and has actually added more symptoms in. they said to try a medication on top of it for one month but that is all. if it doesn't work (i cant go back on it again after that for a longer term solution) then i will be having the current IUD in place removed and i need to think about the other options which also means i need to have a think about the future. they will run another ultrasound to check to make sure things are still ok in there but the next steps will affect fertility and/or loose it. so i have to have a think about things in the next 2 months (they give it a month to work and month to see if it continues to help) and work out if i want to continuously be on other medications to try and manage symptoms and keep what fertility i may have or to see about one of the other options that will might help symptoms and be more comfortable long term but will affect my chances of having kids at all.

Re: not coping

ive been looking through the information on the med they gave me to take but i don't think i can even take it @Former-Member
it says not to take it if you have/or have had any pancreatic issues. i told the gynae about the stomach and pancreatic issues yesterday and she didn't say i couldn't take them. its also coming up its very common to get weight gain and i honestly don't think i can go through that again. im trying to weigh up if one month will really make a difference but i don't know. its so hard. why does everything have to happen all right now 😞

Re: not coping

It all sounds very overwhelming right now @outlander . I wish there was something I could advise that would help.

I'm wondering if your gastroenterologist may be able to advise on this medication? So many decisions to be made, and not a lot of information being given to assist the process. Or worse still ... some conflicting information.

Perhaps you can hold off on the new medications until you see the gastro guy next week, and see what advise he has. That appointment may also rule out any possible pancreatic issues, depending on the scan and blood test results.

Okay I must go ... weekly grocery shopping to do, and chemist scripts to collect.

Talk later.

Re: not coping

Hi @Owlunar

I hope its ok to respond over here more then the other thread...

I know you have good knowledge of the human body but I guess theres no use trying to guess what that mass/thing might be. Ive done lots of testing though and I will speak with the gastroenterologist next friday to see what the results are. I will keep you updated with whats happening if you like?

Its always one thing after another, its so frustrating. Oh yes I remember that very large breast cyst I had that popped and was very yuck for abit till it drained and healed better. I still have the scar from that.

I grew up very quickly because of so many things starting with DV in the home when I was very young. Its still hard though. I wouldnt expect that most people would be able to manage everything. We are only human.

To be honest, no I dont really think im well enough to be doing all that im doing but atm with all the commitments I just cant take a break yet. It takes time to arrange breaks and with the school holidays coming up in a few weeks its looking more and more unlikely anything will happen until at least after that. but im trying to reduce things that I do so limiting the amount of horses I care for-im at my limit now except one that starts next month but was arranged even before I got sick and I don't have the kids as much atm.

Re: not coping

thanks @Former-Member I spoke with the pharmacist before I got it. I think itll be ok more so now that ive had all the tests that it might affect. she said its like a 1% chance that it might affect the enzymes in the pancreas. I got them but I might wait to double check anyway.
