Morning lil Sis @outlander

I understand your need for protection re: IUD but it's something I wouldn't ever have as for me it carries too many potential problems.

For many years I had an implant just under the skin in my upper arm that gave 99% protection, and also helped with the severe pain I used to get mid cycle. I didn't want to take oral medication because I was so forgetful and other options also didn't appeal.

I'd just thought I'd mention it as perhaps it's something that hasn't been discussed with you.

Morning @NatureLover @eth

@Snowie

It's handy being 2 hours behind here in the west, but it sucks when it's 3hours.

Its a rainy day here today. I'm trying to get some documents sorted this morning, but not making much progress as I feel super slow.

I have to go food shopping soon, and then I'm at the op shop this afternoon for an extra shift.

Re: not coping

morning sis @Sans911

none of it is for protection, its all for management of symptoms like cramping (at random times not really related to periods or mid cycle specifically), irregularity-I went 6 months without a period and now they come every 2 damn weeks and can go for longer then a week at a time, and a lot of other things that were making things difficult in daily living.

I didn't and still don't want the oral med but they've already said its not permanent and they don't want me on it any longer then a month. its just to see if it might help in addition to the IUD and might give a better indiciation of what the next step would be. I am forgetfull too but they said I already have the form of protection in the IUD if I wanted it for that so I wouldn't have to take it at exactly the same time every single day.

I didn't want the implant in my arm either. so that's why they agreed the IUD was the best option at the time. I asked them to remove it yesterday but they said can i give this option ago first just to see and then they will take it out at the next review if i still wanted that.

I didn't want to be on any form of contraceptive because of all the potential side effects etc, I just went with the iUD because the symptoms can be really unbearable and decided to give something ago (plus I didn't have to explain it do anyone why I had oral contraceptives or the implant in my arm-I can I hide the IUD)

Re: not coping

So sorry to hear that you're caught between a rock and a hard place @outlander , with the choice of managing symptoms vs possible fertility loss 😥

Hoping for clarity for you to know what the right decision is...

Re: not coping

Sorry for any misunderstandings @outlander. I did think it was for other things, but I couldn't quite remember.

It's your body, your choice of course. I just found the implant was barely visible (it was on the inside of my arm. I'm not sure if it can be located other areas like stomach or elsewhere), it regulated my cycle very well. And I didn't have to think about it for 3years.

It seems to be this IUD is possibly causing more problems than it might be worth? Is that the case? Is it adding yet more symptoms do you think? Or is it just that other symptoms are all clashing with each other?

Re: not coping

that is ok @Sans911 I wouldn't expect you to keep up, I struggle keeping up myself 😬

yeah I wanted to get it removed yesterday but they wanted me to try an oral med just to see. its only for a month and I have a review in 3 (I can go earlier if I need to) so maybe I can just see how it goes. before they remove it they go an ultrasound to make sure its still in the right place and not stuck in any lining etc but they do that on the day. yes I think it is, Ive had 2 larger then normal cysts that have ruptured, the ble--eding has become lighter but its more frequent and longer and the cramping at random times is much worse then before which required stronger meds for longer. im already on them but I have to take them more frequently with this iud ive found. it was suppose to reduce the effects but it hasn't done that.
they did say that the more upper stomach pains may be contributing as well as it does get really intense and radiates everywhere but when its specifically like a stab-ing pain right where the iud sits I don't think its my stomach causing it.
