Burn out is suuuuper gnarly @outlander - is there an opportunity for you to take an extended break, or cut down hours or something? Just to get some reprieve before deciding to quit entirely? Or maybe a change is what's needed and you ought to follow your instincts! It's tough ay.

Re: not coping

@Jynx im only working 16 hours a week with yet another new company because i lost my job elsewhere. i feel like i just need a good couple of aweeks off. i go to work come home and still working because of pop then i go to work and then i come home and still working and with school holidays helping with sibling. i am just totally exhausted i dont want to be at work, i dont want to talk or think about work and even my work ethic is gone. its very weird. i feel like i need more support but i cant afford more support. im already paying privatley as it is.

@outlander oh hectic, yeah no wonder you're burnt out! No time for outlander to do outlander!

Is there a way for you to get a few weeks off? Off work, off responsibilities, or even just a few weeks of fewer responsibilities? You really deserve a break!

Re: not coping

when school goes back itll be abit easier but thats still a few weeks off yet-start of feb i believe it is for our state.

im also trying to see all the specialists i need to for these ndis reports so i can hand in my application.

when pop was in respite i found it a big difference to my work because i got to come home and relax and rest and not have to be on alert all the time i worked myshift and then could just come home not come home to more work.
the clients that i have right now are high care and high behaviours and with behaviours increasing at home by pop it really is like im always working.
this placement cannot come fast enough. i cant afford not to work. so that wont stop but i could have a few days off but again my entire life revolves around him so i cant have a few days off with no work.

i think ive just hit a point where im just to burnt out to care for him AND workwith people. i am so torn because i actually normally enjoy my work even when it is tough. i think the job loss from a really godo workplace took a toll as well. its alot of adjusting and the changes i struggle with alot wen its constant.

i would honestly love to get away for a couple of days with no mention of work or pop and not for medical treatment. like a holiday!

@outlander Feb can't come quick enough ay!

I see entirely what you mean - there's no time in your day when you're not looking to everyone else's needs but your own. That is really rough.

A holiday would be soooo perfect! Is it something you could plan towards? Like if your pop was to go back into respite (if possible?), you could plan to take time off at the same time and go somewhere fun! I've always found that having something like that to look forward to helps me getting through stuff that feels like a grind otherwise.

Re: not coping

@Jynx i would love a holiday. its hard to plan anything at the moment though. if the pain specalist suggests further treatment for things then i need to focus on that but thats usually when i go away for a couple of days post treatment. my time away in december feels like an eternity ago now

Re: not coping

@outlander Something to keep in the works I suppose, but yep, that does make it harder. If you could holiday anywhere, where would you go?

Re: not coping

i actually want to travel to the hunter valley @Jynx it is several hours from me but its suppose to be lovely. i dont drink wine or alcohol much at all but they do other tours and the markets are suppose to be really good as well. i honestly just like the idea of being in a quiet place with nice scenery away from everyone
