Re: not coping

You've done so much already @outlander and it's only lunchtime!!

I hope you get what you want done hon.

Looking at xmas lights is so much fun. We have a house near us that go all out. They live on an acre so he does a huge display. Every year he asks for donations, this year it is going to MS. Such a lovely man.

That is really nice to give them some presents. Shows how loving you are 💌💌

Re: not coping

ive now done the horses to add to the list and also washed the dishes @Snowie
just doing the last load of washing now but still need to fold and put away.

im taking them to one of the areas that have streets upon streets. they actually almost make it an event and some get ice cream or coffee vans and you can walk up and down 2 or 3 of the adjoining streets and leave the cars parked on another street.

there are a few houses that do displays with some donation boxes. i think its lovely how people do that.

im helping volunteering with food and toy hamper delivery for kids and families who are disadvantages on wednesday and thursday for a few hours with a local charity so itll be nice to be helping some other families too.

i wish i wasnt in an area that alot of decorations go missing. i would love to do the house up and allow people to come into the garage to look at oraments and havea really nice display and offer beverages etc. i cant though so i will volunteer elsewhere!

nearly finished cleaning the house. just need to vaccum and sweep front porches. hopefully these clothes dry within the next hour so i can fold and put them away so i can have a shower and not smell like a sweaty horse lol

Re: not coping

You should be proud of how much you have accomplished today @outlander

It gives such a good feeling giving to people. It can really lift our spirits.

Where I live the houses are so spread out that we don't get many doing lights around my area. We can drive into town to look at some but it's not a big area for them.

Hubby used to do some lights when the kids were young. They loved it.

Re: not coping

my fatigue and pain levels have been making it hard to do anything lately @Snowie i think i need to spea to the cardiologist and the neurologist again and get them to work together for this newer diagnosis so i can better manage it. the heat isnt helping here though.

if i didnt have guests today i probably wouldnt be cleaning this much lol. im one of those people who use to clean before the cleaner got there!

must be a bit harder being more rural but its so good that one property goes all out and does a big put on. im sure kids and adults alike love it. i love looking at lights

Re: not coping

I hope you can work out your pain levels @outlander and that they become more manageable.

I am putting my cleaning off till Xmas eve. I will do it then before everyone comes Xmas day.

It is satisfying however to have a clean house!!

Hopefully you see a lot of lights tonight.

Re: not coping

i have a complex pain syndrome @Snowie as well as neurological ones that affect all the automic systems so it means i cant regulte body temps or anything properly so i cant have to much of a hot shower as it can cause dizzy spells and make me feel unwell like ive over heated. i have to be careful about alot of things so on top of that i also have the pain syndrome and mental health conditions so its honestly a battle every day.

the wound i feel is healing finally. im getting a nurse to do a quick wound check for me as well just to check on the progress.

we dont have any plans christmas day now because of so many family fueds happening so pop will go to family like normal but ill be at home.
my house always needs cleaning. living with pop is like living with a toddler. you clean one room and theyre making a mess in another. i spent half the morning cleaning his room and hes already made a mess and in the kitchen after id just finished cleaning.

Re: not coping

I know you deal with a lot of things with your body @outlander and the pain is hard for you. It must be a battle for you daily hon, but you need to acknowledge that you do keep going everyday. Some might just give up, but I know that's not you. You fight hon, and I commend you for fighting everyday. It shows how much strength you have.

Your pop sounds like my hubby. He is certainly not neat and tidy. D has currently taken over the kitchen and baking some things. Even though she will clean up after herself I am not going in there. I have a thing about my kitchen bench being free from clutter.

Re: not coping

it is hard and most of these conditions are aquired from injuries-most from helping someone! @Snowie but i still like helping others so i try to just manage the best i can

every time my pop makes a cup of tea its horrid. theres sugar everywhere, teabags get left in the sink even though we have 2 bins. if theres any empty milks they wont go in the bin.

he spits alot in the kitchen and in the bathroom so im always trying to make it hygenic.

Re: not coping

Must make it hard to live with then @outlander

The quicker he is in a home the better for you.
