Re: not coping

Maybe today is just a write-off for you @outlander and that's ok! It can be super helpful to spend some downtime just focusing on self-care and self-nurturance to replenish the energy for later.

Re: not coping

still caring for pop and babysitting till 9 @Jynx

i think its past the point of focus on self care. i think something needs to give now not in a years time.

Re: not coping

@outlander have you got much support from your uni? Reasonable Adjustments or some sort of learning support? Sounds like you're pretty burnt out at the moment.

If something could give, what would you want it to be?

Re: not coping

@outlander Mm I can only imagine that caring for your Pop does put pressure on everything else in your life hey. Really hard when it's something outside your control like that.

Re: not coping

yes it sucks @Jynx on top of that a job i dont like. doesnt make life very enjoyable. i went to go for a walk today and i just couldnt make myself get out of the car so i just sat there for over an hour doing nothing.

Re: not coping

@outlander maybe that's exactly what you needed to do hun, nothing at all, by yourself for a time. What are some things you have been enjoying lately?

In response to: Re: not coping

Re: not coping

nothing @Jynx i find no enjoyment in anything. i normally like walking but not today and my pain levels are elevated which is a good indication that the medical treatment scheduled will be worth it.

but i really dont enjoy anything, everything feels like a chore or something i have to do.

Re: not coping

@outlander double combo burnout and anhedonia. You've got it super rough hun. I hope that the medical treatment can make a difference for you in that regard.

Have you spoken to Carer's Australia at all about what you've got on your shoulders?
