Re: not coping

I’m at home today @Snowie I hate being here. It’s so windy and cold here though. I’ve already been and done the horses so I’m home now. I have some assignments that I need to do but I can’t be bothered and I don’t have the mental space to do it. I’m bored but I don’t feel like doing anything. I was going to go for a walk new r the beach but I’m waiting on someone to pick something up and will more then likely be a no show meaning a day wasted at home

Re: not coping

I can understand being bored @outlander but at the same time struggling to do anything. It is hard to deal with both aspects. Motivation is just damm hard.

I hope you can still get to go for a walk.

It is cold and wet here today.

Re: not coping

Having a goal is a great idea hon @outlander ***ks is a lot of walking!

I'm sorry you don't feel comfortable in your own home. Maybe it will be different when you get a place of your own.

I just haven't been able to motivate myself. Seems to be happening more lately.

Re: not coping

I want to reach that goal because 2 years ago I couldn’t even walk @Snowie I don’t walk that far that often I can usually manage **ks I’m depending on the day and pain and energy levels but I want to reach ***ks to prove they disabilities don’t define you.

I really hope when I have a place of my own I can create a safe space. I hate it here.
I have no motivation either but I just can’t seem to stop! I have to keep moving and doing something till I exhaust myself to the point I have to sleep

Re: not coping

Creating a safe space is something we all need @outlander I think it is important to have whether it is at home or some place else.

That is a great way of looking at your walking hon. No it shouldn't define us. You have come a long way in a short time.

It is strange how we each cope with our motivation in different ways.

Re: not coping

I don’t have anywhere @Snowie that’s probably part of my breakdowns. If I had somewhere safe to go I think I would be able to come home and be ok even if it’s short times to start with.
I have to learn to cope and do calming things. That’s what my psychologist wants time to try and work on with a support worker who I get along with so I feel safer to sit and colour in or something that I can do quietly and not like a bull running at a gate 24/7

I’m only able to walk because of the medica treatment I received last year and will get again this year. It has really helped me out. I still have flare ups and have daily pain and trauma etc but I didn’t know whether I was ever going to be able to walk and live a normal life. That treatment really helped turn that aspect around for me

Re: not coping

I'm glad the treatment helped @outlander and you are able to have a life.

Perhaps some safe things to do will help in the meantime until you are able to have that safe space.
