For sure you can ask @outlander . I won't make any promises about whether we can assist you, but for sure - ask away 🙂

Re: not coping

well as you know im looking at supports and basically hired some supports at the end of the year to help with back home after medical treatment @tyme

im wondering if there is like a mental health care plan template thats avaliable that i could make up to help the support workers. like what my diagnosis are, symptoms, triggers, coping strategies. i guess sort of like a safety plan but not exactly a safety plan if that makes sense? that way if im starting to struggle the support workers know my signs and symptoms and what might help if im not really in a good mindset to say what helps.

Re: not coping

Makes a lot of sense @outlander .

I would tabulate it under headings:

warning signs

triggers

protective factors (what keeps you going)

approach - what should care givers do?

contact - emergency contacts if needed

It is absolutely up to you how much personal info you want to provide them e.g. regarding your diagnosis etc.

Does that help?

Otherwise, do you remember filling out the wellness plan as part of being a community guide? That may help.

Re: not coping

mm i do remember making the wellness plan @tyme but i cant find it. any chance you could email it to me?
i think that would provide a good baseline for a plan. i dont really need a safety plan as i wont go into that much detail with them but if my sh urges come around then it might be beneficial

Re: not coping

I will have a look and send it through @outlander .

Also, perhaps it's also a safety plan for you more than them too? You can right down what would help you, who to call, and remind you of why you are pushing through?

Re: not coping

thank you @tyme its been a while since ive seen that plan but i do remember doing one and a safety plan during our training.

yes i think itll be good to have something on hand. i didnt cope so well after the treatment last time. it might be different this time it might be better but i want to plan in case its the same or worse. id rather be to prepared then not prepared at all.

Re: not coping

It's definitely good to be proactive. @outlander

Maybe being on the forums will help during treatment (if you're able, that is)

Re: not coping

um i think so @tyme it might depend on how i am. the treatment can cause alot of hallucinations, dissociative episodes and inability to not really know what ive said/done etc. i think i popped in last time during the early days on the treatment as it wasnt as high intensity but by day 3/4 i was getting some of those symptoms i had mentioned so i wasnt on my phone much
