Re: not coping

the shift was ok. im glad it was only a couple of hours though. i like the double pay rates though esp when my hours are reduced but im hoping to have another job i can work for a couple of extra hours each week or maybe be able to do some things at home. i just need to try and get some extra hours.

my medical treatment at the end of the year is going to be really costly as well ive been saving but with me having to dip into my saving with the restricted hours i need to do something about that

Re: not coping

That’s hard that it’s so expensive to get needed medical treatment. @outlander. I do hope you can get a second job but to be able to manage it as well. You have no idea how much I wish I could help you out. You really do need to catch a break.

Re: not coping

in total between the medical treatment and the help i need after it its going to cost me about 5-6k maybe abit more @Captain24

Re: not coping

Ouch!! @outlander. Does Medicare cover any of it? Are you in a health fund?

In response to: Re: not coping

Re: not coping

medicare doesnt cover it @Captain24 and my health insurance is already covering half of it. the most of it is having to hire support staff and hotels as im not able to drive for a couple of days or anything like that after it plus its a really hard treatment to recover from as well for a couple of days. my insurance doesnt cover supports. most would probably have family or friends to help out but i have neither so im paying for help as well as the gap fee from the health insurance

Re: not coping

Have you looked into with the govt can assist with accommodation? @outlander. Dad has to be away for a month if he is still able to have treatment and they are going to help with some of the costs. Not sure how much yet

Re: not coping

Hope you are okay. I guess it's come to the point that it's the money @outlander . Double pay helps.

Once things are more settled, hopefully you find something you can enjoy.

I'm sorry work is just work now.

Re: not coping

yes @Captain24 they can help with a night like the night beforehand but because once discharged i need to have the 24hrs supervision the accommodation doesnt accommodate that and is more for families requiring to saty while family is in hospital. i dont really want to stay out of state though id rather be closer to home where im more familiar with the area etc as well.

Re: not coping

it really is just money at this point @tyme i dont like where im working but i do have a job interview for another company that seems to be better run so while it might be a second job it might be an ok opportunity as well and something i can transition to to a more permanent position in the future. i am getting some cash in hand work as well that i dont mind. its only on and off but it still helps when i need to pay off medical services.

i enjoy helping people but i think its the current company spoiling it for me. i trained a new staff member today thats taking my 2 regualr shifts that i needed to stop and theyve already msged me saying how boring and relentless the time seems to be going so i dont think its just me feeling the workplace stuff esp with the new worker only going to be there 1-2 days a week and im there 3-4 days (was 5)

Re: not coping

That makes it hard @outlander. Sorry. I’m out of suggestions.

I hope you can work it out.
