Re: not coping

Sometimes we question ourselves when we are going well @outlander It is like there is something wrong that things are going good. It's like we sit and wait for the good times to end.

All you can do is what is right for this moment hon. If that means reaching out and getting more support then maybe you need that. Do you see your psych soon?

I get those urges hon. They can get really strong at times.

Re: not coping

theres been so many changes in the last year @Snowie it hasnt ever ended theres always something happening but i just thought i was finally starting to get myself together. while mentally i still wasnt great it wasnt always at the forefront and i was starting to find things i was actually able to do between mental and physical struggles. but then it all goes and changes again and im stuck in the sam spot over and over again constantly.

i see the psych fortnightly so not for anotherr week and abit. to expensive for me to see any more then that

Re: not coping

Thank you for sharing @outlander . It sounds like you are doing what you can to have a leg up in everything that is happening at home. I acknowledge it must be so hard right now.

What can do you do tonight to help with the urges?

Do you think you can speak to someone?

Re: not coping

no one to speak to @tyme and im not overly keen on helplines as theyve not been helpful in the past.

im just watching tv as usualy when pop is home. i cant go for a drive or a walk when hes here. ive already gone for a walk today though and been on the stationary bike. im to tired to do any more now. i dont really feel up for much esp after a long day at work.
i have another 2 shifts in a row itll make 8 days in a row. one day off and then back again for the rest of the week it feels like.

Re: not coping

Do you think work will help take your mind off things for a while? @outlander

I'm sitting with you. Please don't feel you are alone in this.

Re: not coping

sometimes it helps. sometimes it doesnt @tyme
in a way while im at work im keeping safe but i also just dont want to be there right now. i also find being at home a trigger. its not a home anymore its a house. i was home alone for a few hours overnight and the last place i wanted to be was here and work. i just kept driving around until i was tired enough to fall asleep. everywhere seems to be a trigger right now

Re: not coping

im finding it hard to speak to one friend in particualr at the moment as well.
its getting harder and harder when she mostly just uses me for her own mental support. shes a nice person but every conversation we have seems to just be her ranting away.

i feel like i sometimes need more supports but being DSW also makes me feel like i should know how to support myself in order to support others.

Re: not coping

Hearing you @outlander . I'm glad you recognise there are friends that use you more for their own support and this is not the friend you need right now.

I'm also hearing that you don't know who to reach out to.

In this, I have to acknowledge your desire for things to change and working towards it. It doesn't mean it will work out first go, but if doesn't mean it won't happen.

Just hang in there. You are not alone.

Re: not coping

@outlander, I feel you on feeling disappointed from calling helplines, sometimes they help, other times not so much. I think I just got lucky this early afternoon when I reached out on chat with Lifeline. It doesn't hurt to give it a go if you think it might help.

I know the pressure of feeling as though I should be able to support myself better, but we all need help and that's okay ❤️
