Re: not coping

I'm sorry to hear. I'm not sure what has happened, but it doesn't sound pleasant. Is it about your current job you are training at, or the job you want to go into? @outlander

Hugs

Re: not coping

whole new job @tyme
im honestly not sure whats happening that im most hopeful for and i dont know how long itll take to hear back.

i decided to apply for another job a friend had suggested to me as there was a couple of job openings for more peer support work rather then more focussed on personal care side of disability. this was a good opportunity so i applied for it and my friend msged the person in charge of that to let them know and she basically had her backside handed to her saying she shouldnt be speaking about clients etc outside of work (she didnt, she said that i would be good for a couple of clients with mental health issues and reccomended i focus on that in the interviews if i got that far) she called me and told me what the owner of the company had said. i now feel like if they did offer me a job im going to be starting out with a bad name. to be honest it was abit of an exaggeration on the companies behalf the way they handled it but now i feel like the chances of that job are either now ruined or im going to feel like im walking on eggshells if i do get the job

Re: not coping

Wow @outlander ,

That's a lot. Seems like so much has happened in just a few days.

Would it help to see that if the job is for you, you'll get it; otherwise, there are better options?

As you said, it's not because you have a lack of qualifications. It sounds like there are many companies who would be after you.

Re: not coping

It never rains but pours @tyme I honestly can’t believe it. I haven’t applied for any of the bigger companies as yet. I’m looking at smaller companies that are abit more flexible with hours with my current home situation. If I wasn’t a carer and I’m working on getting out of that then I would probably apply for bigger companies.

I guess if it’s meant to be I’ll hear back. Same as the job I have more hope or want for.
The suspense waiting is really hard though esp with the more job that I want it’s been weeks now

I'll be here waiting with you @outlander . I sense the waiting can be anxiety-provoking. Yet I also believe the perfect job will be waiting for you.

Re: not coping

Seems to be a lot happening every where tonight @outlander . It's been busy, not just here 🙂 At least I know the forums are alive and kicking 🙂

I hear the suspense can be stressful. I just hope it's the right job.

If this new company does end up employing you, I don't think you need to worry about starting with a bad impression.

Re: not coping

I'm not studying at this point. I'm looking to enrol in something. I haven't studied in 1.5years. @outlander I don't know what I'm going to study yet.

I think I'm going to start a research paper soon - on a certain type of therapy. I'm just waiting to finalise things.
