Re: not coping

Hello my sister @outlander

I think we have met somewhere else online apart from Sane forum

Big changes are not very pleasant at anytime , and myself i am still going through the guilt and the ifs and what other family members tell me what I should and should not do ❤️

You have a big list of things and I am sending you lots of understanding hugs

But the one step at a time first

(ive made the decision to not be a carer any more and look into permanent residential care for pop ) --- it takes time for this to happen and you will still get half the carers pension for a little while he is in aged care

one question -- why do you have to leave ( do you have to sell ) , because they will use pop`s pension in the aged care

my mind was a total mess as i have had so many changes , and it was hard to as mr shaz was having a breakdown watching me instead of me being his rock

write a list down xxxx

Re: not coping

@outlander it sounds like you are putting yourself first and what you want to do.

Your family has relied on you too much. You are so young and have such a bright future ahead of you.

Just take it one thing at a time hon.

I'm with @Shaz51 make a list hon.

Re: not coping

yes i think a list will be ideal @Snowie @Shaz51

im not concerned about payments because i am happy to continue working for a living. its just alot of steps to need to take and a long list it seems

@Shaz51 in answer to your question its because i am not on the lease and the house is built and adapted for those with a disability (like wheelchair and walking frame and support railings etc) so i wouldnt keep the house from someone who needs it either. im not in a hurry to leave or anything like that atm and i need to do the process properly unless someone else takes over from me and they stay here either way i wont be staying here

Re: not coping

That is why lists are good @outlander , cross that as you go

Always seems soo much bigger and harder in our minds , we end up getting overwhelmed with it all

And with a list , you can also say , well that is one step forward 😀 👍

Re: not coping

it would just be nice to have less resistance from the family is all @Shaz51 it is already a really hard decision but its time to start living. i dont regret being a carer and ill always carry that with me and help others but just not in this role. i have been lucky enough to be accepted in a diploma program next year but it will be alot more work and requires more work placement. once ive done that i can specialize more or start looking for jobs im more interested in or higher paying jobs so i need to try and start looking at the future.

Re: not coping

Yes everyone would agree that it would be easier without family resistance, I agree 👍 @outlander

And someone told me " oh it will make you stronger " really 🤔

Congratulations for next year's program xxx
