Re: not coping

@tyme unfortunatley everyone only sees what they want to see. they think its great that she lives there. ive tried suggesting she move on but no one listens. shes very narcassistic so people only see the 'good' side but they dont see the rest of it. ive been providing for not only myself and pop but also her for the last year. shes not paid a cent towards any household contributions in the year she has been there

Re: not coping

Sounds like free board..... @outlander 😞

I can hear how stressful it is and probably taking it's toll.

Does she work?

Re: not coping

no she doesnt @tyme she just likes to pretend she knows everything. she doesnt work and hasnt worked for a while. blames me for not being able to work because she helps with pop but most of my shifts my pop comes in with me esp during football and cricket season because he hangs out with all the guys here and has dinner with them instead of at home

Re: not coping

Is pop okay with it? (sorry for all the questions. I just feel the frustration....) @outlander

Re: not coping

he is but he also isnt @tyme but anytime ive said that she should move out etc the normal come backs are that shes her daughter and she should be welcome there for however long she needs. none of her own kids or other friends will take her in either. its his daughter but he hates her attitude and behaviours like being bossy and her voice is always snappy and tries to twist things

Re: not coping

It sounds like a parent's heart. I hear what your pop means.

But I also acknowledge that staying there is not going to teach her anything.

I also didn't realise she has her own kids too! I'm wondering if she is quite a sad case inside...

I just don't understand some people @outlander . I really don't....

Re: not coping

no @tyme shes selfish and narcassist and wants everything to go her own way. shes in her 50s! shes old enough to know how to get onto centrelink whether it be job search, disability aged or whatever it needs to be but she wont. she applied for centrelink and got one payment and when she realised that if she doesnt attend the appointments or meet some of the basic job instructions (which i think was apply for 5-10 jobs a fortnight) then her centrelink gets cut off. she says says qualified in just about everything (so she says) but she hasnt been able to get a job in years

Re: not coping

Wow... I feel so sad for her... and those who have to live with her - she's in her 50s and has 0 source of income because she 'can do everything' !!! @outlander .

I guess sometimes, we just can't change people, we can only change how we react towards them so we don't get hurt further.

What do you do to manage being around her?

Re: not coping

its only me and pop that live with her @tyme everyone else only lets her stay with them overnight or for a night or 2.

i work alot even if it means bringing pop with me, i hide out at the horses or im in my room.
