Re: not coping

Do you want to talk about that upset and frustration @outlander?

Re: not coping

@outlander good that you finally heard from your GP. Although it doesnt sound as though it has allayed any of your fears or uncertainty around your scan reports. Listening with hearing eyes if you wish to discuss.

@Sans911 so pleased that some of your wounds are finally showing signs of healing. Hopefully a good sign that the rest will follow .. eventually. Ha ha Mr A is a funny fellow.

Re: not coping

I don't know @Sans91 @Sherr
im so confused. I cant be specific but ill try to explain

On the CT even though the radiologist has suggested an urgent MRI or CT the gp is dead set on getting a blood test first and then referring me to a gastroenterologist. I get that and im ok with that however he isn't going to do the CT or MRI till the blood tests come back to check for a virus.
On the CT scan there is an 19cm mass/lesion/other-cant be specific here and he wont do anything else. A specialist right now has a 6 month wait even for an initial phone appointment.
He wont run an mri because itll cost me money-I said I don't care about that I would rather get it done and know what it is then to wait another 6 months stressing out over it.

Wait for bloods then see what happens he says. and also apparently whatever on my pancreas isn't whats causing whats happening for me.

@Jacques @Lumi ill tag you from here, this is the most recent update

Re: not coping

That's a pretty big lesion @outlander no matter where it is. And I can definitely understand why you want a MRI done. I probably would too.

So if you get bloods done then it might be about a 2week wait for another CT or MRI right? That's not too bad in the scheme of things, and perhaps the blood test might show something that doesn't warrant an MRI.

And maybe there is a 6month wait for a gastroenterologist but surely if your gp marks the referral as urgent it might be less.

I'm clutching at lots of straws here, sorry.

Re: not coping

bloods will be back on Thursday @Sans911 I got them don't today but right at the very end so they wont be sent for testing ill tomorrow morning. ive made a appt for Thursday morning to get the results back. if it comes back clear for what hes looking for then maybe he will send me for another ct or mri.
Theres spaces available all week and next week for all tests but I wouldn't get it done till Wednesday because its a 300$ gap fee. hes looking for H-pylori in my stomach- that's the only reason he wants a blood test.

it is scaring the shite out of me and making me extremely anxious waiting. its not like its a tiny mark its friggin 19cm for gods sake.

sorry im not taking it out on you its just upsetting and worrying and frustrating me.

Re: not coping

@outlander - it's all good lil Sis. I can 'hear' the frustration in your post. So even if he's testing for H-pylori what's that got to do with the lesion, and what's he doing about that? Cause, yes , that needs serious attention. And soon by the sounds of it.

I certainly can understand your worry about it. I don't have anything else to offer but my support lil Sis. You have it any time you need it.

Re: not coping

when I say might send me for an mri/ct after the blood tests back he also said hes not sure and might just refer me to a gastroenterologist for their opinions first instead of getting one done.

Re: not coping

@outlander .. that is indeed a large mass ... you dont mean 19mms do you? Cant see how you could fit something 19cms inside you. 😵

As far as Helicobacter Pylori ... I thought they used a 'breath test' to diagnose that? My husband had it many years ago and it was determined via a breath test. He was put on medications which were very effective.

Totally understand you being scared with all the waiting ... very upsetting and frustrating I'm sure.

I guess you need to wait now until Thursday and go from there, depending on results.

Re: not coping

nothing- it has nothing to do with the lesion 😞
he wasn't to check for H.Pylori to see if I have or haven't had it to see if its also possibly a stomach ulcer that's causing the symptoms. If it comes back then he will treat with antibiotics and he wont send me for another scan he will just refer me as normal which will take forever to see one because he says it might not be urgent but he cant tell..
well duh 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ thats why the radiologist says to do another scan... @Sans911

and thank you for being here and to everyone. I really do appreciate it

Re: not coping

no @Sherr 19cm is exactly what it says on the report. 19cm of whatever is showing which is where a lot of my pain is stemming from If I look at a diagram of a body but apparently it has nothing to do with how im feeling now and keeps harping on about the h.pylori which yes it may very well be a stomach ulcer that's causing what ive had for 2 yrs but its not causing the pain. that is new and you cant see an ulcer on a scan you have be scoped for that.

they can do a breath test if I want to go off all medications for 2 weeks and im not doing that. the medications to treat a stomach ulcer (unless I need ABX) are what im already on. im on the meds for it for the past 2 yrs when I was first tested.
