Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism I appreciate you do express the ideas in a precise manner.. I have to agree I am not that good at that.

However I think it's really helpful to get that level of clarity as you have... because it's thoughts that eventually become our reality in future.

The treatment bit indeed is painful and I am out of words to express how big a failure this is for the doctors out there to have someone go through these. Please do pour down your feelings through out as sharing might help feeling bit lighter.

We are listening... feeling helpers but there with you

Re: Coming to terms with reality

hello @eudemonism

I have had a busy day today after such a dreadful one yesterday...

life can be like that sometimes can't it when we least expect it....

I have just caught up on all of your latest threads...

you have shown again how well you are expressing some of those inner feelings that continue to take hold of you .....patterned thinking...self preservation....grief even from experiences during your younger years and then lack of empathy from the very people who are positioned to offer help...

sadly you are not the first whom I have heard about in the public health system....there are others on the forum whom have written about their own dread..

you mentioned right and wrong...fighting...wanting to form new relationships...how to trust...

I cannot begin to imagine how hard all of this is for you....when your mind takes over and will not be calmed...

you mentioned the old testament and clearly you have done a fair bit of reading of this bible...

I have not myself...I did attend sunday school ...very different to actually reading sections of the bible..

I do know the lord's prayer though...

The Lord's Prayer - Anonymous

There have been a few people in my life who have hurt me and I have eventually forgiven them....not easy to do....I have forgiven them but not forgotten the deed..

It is a very powerful move to forgive someone who has hurt you...what helps is to realise that you are the stronger person in making the first move to forgive...as they are not capable...

This act of forgiveness ...helps your own soul to become even stronger and at peace...

does that help at all?

keep on writing no matter what...if we upset you in anyway..which we certainly do not want to do ....do not let that stop you expressing yourself Eude...You are the most important person for you to look after...

have to check out the writing thread to see if you have done any more...

your friend mohill

Hello @Friendconnect

I think what can happen sometimes ...this has certainly been the case for me...

I have responded and in that action wanted to offer support show that I have heard and empathise..

however...we all speak in our own manner....as there is no body language...facial expression...tone of voice ...we only have wording to go by...

even though we might all be trying to say the same thing on some occasions ...the words can mean such different things to others...

downfall of the written word..

accepting this and apologising...rephrasing usually works....I feel that you have made the effort to do this...

There is also a lot of pressure on @eudemonism as the two of us continue to offer suggestions...

I appreciate Eude that you are preparing yourself for the worst time of the month for you...

I apologise sincerely if I am becoming overbearing with suggestions...

will try to lighten the responses for you....will be guided by your wishes...

take care all

@Former-Member, @eudemonism...
While I have tried to put best words out there in order to support ... they're probably not bound well.

That might just be a reflection of myself being in broken state of late. I am just trying to collect and hold bits and pieces of myself and crumbling down again and again while doing so. I describe it any better.... just something dying inside me...feels like me. Sorry not my day.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Friendconnect & @Former-Member It's nothing personal against either of you... I've just been dealing with my issues the best way and possibly the only way I know how too... For such a long time now... And I'm at my wits end and have no hope of anything ever being any different for myself... It's definitely not ideal or good... From the standpoint of my own perception of how things should, would and could be... If only a few things were different or things which are out of my control were changed... My situation is like that of a bird in a cage... Or a dog on a chain... Or a rodent on a running wheel... Or a goldfish in a fishbowl... A rabbit in a hutch... A chicken in a coop... A horse in a paddock... I'm doing what comes natural... There's only so much I can do for myself or anyone else can do too help... Unfortunately... Eude.

There's two types of people in this world... Some people wanna be Jesus... And some people... Know they need Jesus...

@eudemonism

am listening to you and supporting you by responding....

I want you to know that you are not all alone with your suffering...

I might not be there in person .....I am very much with you in thought...

the more that I have corresponded with you...the closer I feel to you as a friend...you matter to me...

as you know I am going into hospital in 10 days time and will not have contact with you for some time...am trying to find out what expected post operative recovery time is...am still waiting...

I am going to speak to Sane so that everyone whom I have grown to know will receive an email explaining better what will be happening...

I will be in contact on here still leading up to hospital admission...

@Friendconnect

we have only recently met ....you have the best intentions for @eudemonism ...this comes across strongly to me....

you have some great insight and wanting to pass some of that onto others showing such empathy demonstrates great strength of character....

in some ways I feel as though the timing of you coming here is significant also...what do you think @eudemonism

I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment @Friendconnect ....

when we first join we are often focussed on one direction...all of your posts have been about reaching out and wanting to help...

perhaps in doing so...you are now opening up some of your own pain....whilst this is hard to experience..even grasp for some people...it is a step forward on your own journey...

when we help others we are always helping ourselves...I know that you both know this and both have empathy and are here to help others also..

When I am in a bad way...am now..I remind myself that I must be gentle with myself...I did not do this for so many years...always trying to be there for others and with people who were important in my life..feeling their pain..trying to take their pain away..whilst pushing my own down...

not good for me at all...

so for all of us if we can be gentle with ourselves....think about what qualities we do have...be thankful that we have these gifts...

take care

mohill

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Thanks for the kind words @Former-Member...
Yes there are no coincidences in this life.. not even an eye glance. There is a perfection in way things unfold.. good or bad... and that's beyond our comprehension but beyond doubt. That's what strengthens my faith in God.

Empathy for the first time I realise is surely a positive thing... but it can be equally responsible for breaking you when you get a completely opposite reaction.

It's such an irony that there can be promises on which your life depends and they seem to mean nothing to the other person. Unfortunately a SORRY don't put things back to order. One needs to find the lost self through a tedious journey... takes its own time.

I like the fact that you always sound so grounded. I never expected this forum to be this helpful to me. Thanks.

@eudemonism... We all need Jesus and we all are Jesus... the process of finding the Jesus inside needs the human in us to die (not physical) till all that remains is love... love for all.
Love is God and thats how Jesus comes alive. Not easy but there's no other way to end of suffering...

We all are helping each other in some way or other.
I am so grateful to both of you for being here.❤️

I am outb of the saddening emotions .. with a thorough introspection 🙂

One saying I found seemed to provide me lesson. Here it goes:
Life is nothing without Love and Care. Give it to everyone but don't expect it back because it's a feel... not a deal 😊... pheww
