Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Today, I've stayed within the parameters of my boundaries and limitations and capabilities. While still gaining ground on making my dreams into a reality. And while still looking after myself and everyone else as best I know how. What the virtual world does... I do not know... Eude.

I'm feeling rather tired and worn down. It's been a long day. I been very busy. And I'm looking forward to a quiet and chilled out afternoon...

Does that sound fair @Friendconnect & @Former-Member Yea?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Member, it's been quite good today... weekends are usually family time so gets bit busy.
I am enjoying the weather today along with lots of day dreaming 😀

@eudemonism.. sounds like a fair plan. Keep listening to your body/mind and give what it demands.. rest/work/letting go.
Everything is usually perfect the way it is.. there's no need to stress or over evaluate... as long as you are trying to enjoy the current moment in its current state. Struggling with our situation leads to suffering whereas acceptance generates happiness.

Happy weekend to you both😊

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Friendconnect I was battling with anxiety all afternoon. It was a case of going from. Aiming, loving and taking action toward a best result scenario. Which was based around stuff in my mind. And avoiding, fearing and being stricken with anxiety based around a worst case result scenario. Which was based around stuff my mind. And my mind knows how to make it complicated. And tie is closely into the world around me. The positive stuff ain't so bad. But the negative stuff is a tad worrying. And in between time... I'm missing out on the practical stuff which is action based... I hate dealing with episodes... Because it controls my feelings... So basically, whether positive or negative stuff... It's all apart of my illness... But unfortunately, my coping mechanism is too... Put my thoughts into words and sell myself to "the world" look for the reaction... Look for the way out... Make it a conversation starter... Eude. So I'm either chasing euphoria or running from fright and using putting my thoughts into words as an instrument or weapon...

When I'm feeling well... I'm getting on with life and attaching to the world of opportunities around me...

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Member I've got to sort my medication out hey. This injection just ain't working for me. I'd prefer to be on oral tablets...

I've taken an tablet tonight. It's settled me right down... Finally feeling at peace...

Eude.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hello @eudemonism

Have you been described tablets by your psychiatrist or doctor?

So good that you are feeling settled and at peace..

you are strong Eude to get through such struggles..

I just want to check that you have not taken a tablet that has not been prescribed?

Are you able to let me know?

your friend moh

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism, hope you're doing well today

if I remember correctly the next injection is due in just couple of days.

May be its a good opportunity to have an elaborate discussion with your doc regarding your experience with this so far and possibilities of alternate options... like oral tablets.

However I agree with @Former-Member - self-medication may not be the best thing to do.

My gut feeling is that if you put forward your problems and have a solution focussed discussion with the doc, there must be something new awaiting you that would serve you far better... you may want to book an extra time on your appointment if that is what it takes and maybe have your questions ready too 🙂

After all you have a right to better fulfilling life for yourself...

Something else I wanted to share...

I am having a strange thought for last couple of days... it kind of stems from the What if thread started recently. I think the fact that we consider society responsible for creating stigma around mental illnesses... as I have considered that to be true too. What if thats not true...

I remember Eude brought up the mirror effect in one of our previous discussions, maybe the stigma exists just with in us and not anywhere outside. What if others do not think of mental illness as anything but just another illness.... because they hardly understand this... and this stigma originates.. resides and perpetuates through ourselves. Just like all other negative emotions... fear.. guilt.. etc.

I think a major part of being accepted by the society is first to be able to accept ourselves exactly as we are and just like with all other aspects of our being... acceptance from others might not matter after all. So, I look forward to the day when this one and many other forums like this are no longer anonymous. Even though this world we've created is virtual, the pain is real.

What if we could turn it the other way round... have real people and gradually turning pain to being just virtual.

Just a thought...
