Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism,

Your frustration is understandable, however your life is not a battle of supremacy between yourself and society.

All that matters is how well you live, and within that comes how much you are able to do what you really want to do, not for others... but in order to have a good time for your own fulfillment. You could start spending some time on any of your favourite activity or interacting with others while doing stuff that you like.

Is there anything in particular that you enjoy doing? I would love to know...

I would suggest you to discuss your diagnosis yet again and more than that the side effects. Atleast throw it on your physician's face and get an answer. You surely should have better options available.

I don't know why.. but keep getting this thought that smoking could be contributing to your overall situation more than you realise. Its ok if you disagree... however that is one change surely going to bring positive change. I have heard of some aids that might help but have no experience with it.

have a peaceful night and a much brighter day ahead... 🙂

@eudemonism

you sound as though your mood has worsened...

I do hope that my post and suggestion has not made you feel as though noone understands or gets it...

I too hate that feeling..

my situation is very different to yours of course...

I still battle with my programmed thinking....my own resentments I am currently dealing with...my own anger that I am hoping to learn how to express safely rather than through anxiety...

my husband is not speaking to me and lashed back at me yesterday...my anxiety ridden voice sounding so strained when more and more stuff keeps hitting me like a meteorite storm...

so we are not speaking to each other...how silly is that...how detrimental this could be...we are both tired...fed up...over it all..

he does not have all of the many griefs that I have...he just has to live with me as I struggle dealing with them and little things that go wrong on a daily basis..

so there is a parallel with our struggles...the reasons behind of course being so very different...

the years are on a parallel also as I too am a survivor of two abusive relationships...

whatever our pain is or however long we have been carrying it...it is still our pain...our grief...unable to be compared with anyone else's.....unable to be measured....

I apologise if you think that I disrespected you or in any way undermined the intensity of your suffering..

I only ever wish to help and support...

please be kind and gentle with yourself...please continue to write on here...

you have done the right thing...you have vented your feelings which are very real...so please know that I have heard you.

take care

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi @eudemonism,
Before you go for your next injection and the suffering following that, you could try and get yourself attuned to Reiki level 1. You just spend 1 day and then spend 30 mins daily to heal yourself. It's the simplest and most cost effective solution to your problems.

That's what seemed to help me and while I know I am repeating it for the nth time, the significance remains the same.

Hope you're mobile enough to attend one day meeting. I strongly feel that would be your way to your happier self. It might take years for this modality to become part of mainstream treatment in hospitals, but you can benefit from it today.

You can discuss regarding this with your physician as well.
Please take care of yourself... and pick an action so as to see different results.
Have a great day!

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Friendconnect Thanks for all your supportive and helpful words.

I hear what you're saying and understand where you're coming from. (well, try too...) but the thing is... There is only so much I can do in one day... There is only so much I'm capable of... Why? Well, I'm medicated! I don't have a magic wand. And I'm pretty much functioning as best I can...

Th the injection is a terrible fate for anyone too go through! Absolutely terrible!

Regard your input about smoking. The injection side effects make me smoke more. And giving up is near impossible because of the injection induced mood fluctuations. And the company I'm keeping. Which is a byproduct of being medicated also... They the facts! It's a vicious circle. So I just accept it. Rather then fight against it.

Eude.

It's like being in a straight jacket and trying to struggle @Friendconnect

If I didn't have coffee and cigarettes today. The chances are I would have been bed ridden and dealing with some awful feelings. And life would of ground to a halt. And my body and mind would be having needs that I couldn't properly meet. Things would totally change if I never had coffee or cigarettes again. In a good or bad way?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Friendconnect & @Former-Member It's not just a case of stop smoking and drinking coffee. Along with not doing alcohol and drugs. And eat healthy and exercise. And study and find work. And go to church. And live happily ever after. Because I'll always be suffering from the side effects of this awful injection. And I just don't see any point when I take that into consideration. - there's not a lot of options for me.
