Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

hello @Friendconnect

hope that you are starting to settle in and meet some others as well....

it is great to see yourself and Eude conversing with each other....

lovely feeling connecting with others isn't it..

I hope that you also benefit from your time on the forums....I know as I do that you will feel warmth from being able to respond to others in a compassionate caring way...

make use of the opportunity to air your own thoughts at time...we all have feelings...thoughts that we need to release at times..

take care

Morning @Former-Member,

Just sent you an email to clarify your request here

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Nice to hear from you @Former-Member,

I am enjoying, infact healing with the time spent here.

Even though I am not very good with general chit chat, I certainly stick to where I think I might be useful, ex., when eude's message caught my attention few days back. I can see everytime I share an idea/experience with him/someone, there is something I get to reflect upon and learn in my own life.

@eudemonism is doing so well... no where near when I heard him the first time. So happy for him but this is just the beginning of his journey...

Ahh want to mention one thing @Former-Member... i did try to send reiki yesterday and while you may not have felt anything, i did. I mean i believe it was working. Though usually the name and location of the person are pre-requisites for this(sorry i forgot thats not permissible here), I would still tend to believe it will help!

Also sending lots of love to you both.... as that's the ONLY thing that works when everything else fails

Re: Coming to terms with reality

oh thank you @Friendconnect

such a lovely caring response...

yes am pleased to hear that you have Eude's best interests at heart....

yesterday was a stressful day as had to follow up with superannuation...corporations etc...robotic organisations which are so well insulated and protected at the top...

needless to say extremely wearing....long waits....having to explain self over and over...

another day to day...

perhaps the reiki is still on it's way...I will think of it in that light...thanking you for your kind intentions..

yes love in it's many forms....shapes.....is vital.....especially for ourselves...

returning your warmest well wishes and passing some over to Eude as well.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hey @eudemonism,

hope you're having a great day...

I am 38, married and have got a boy. Yeah was working or should I say... have been managing to threaten myself to go to work untill Jan this year. Can't bear my own hatred anymore.. so looking to be kind to myself this year. I am on an indefinite break from work and have started with some studies... lets see where do they lead me.

All I am trying to do is sort out and declutter my life... before starting any fresh engagements. Like taking a fresh look at life as to how I want to live... can't imagine how I spent so many years without giving serious thought about it. I have ordered couple of yoga CDs yesterday... waiting for their arrival.

We are all covering similar journeys.. just at different milestones. Thats how it helps sharing our experiences i guess.

Hope you've got something lined up for the day... 🙂

Re: Coming to terms with reality

thanks for sharing your situation @Friendconnect

it is amazing how important that step becomes in reassuring the person we are responding to...we also have our own issues and struggles....can benefit from their support as well..

well done for recognising this stage in your life...

your family too will benefit from you gaining more insight into yourself...

would you believe that my missing son is the same age as you...

no need to respond

take care

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism, just another thought... I strongly feel like sharing

Once we've had a job, friends/family and kids... we realise that all this somehow not enough and we still feel an emptiness inside because we tend to define happiness in terms of our possessions. And any possession outside of us is temporary... nothing is guaranteed to last.

Having a good working relationship with yourself is what makes life worth living. It can be a hard concept to grasp but you can only have a relationship with another person when you're feeling happy with yourself. Entering a relationship expecting someone will make you happy is a recipe of disappointment.

And once we're providing ourselves enough love, having a relationship doesn't matter as much... just an additional aspect of our life.

As we connect to ourselves, we automatically start detaching from the world outside.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Yea... The problem is still the injection and the entire mental health system being a load of rubbish which needs to be taken to the trash heap..

Personally, if I had my way, I'd put every mental health worker I've ever dealt with on the injection and see how they like life...

Re: Coming to terms with reality

I sure as hell won't miss society when I'm gone. And I sure as hell don't want society to miss me. And so that shall be so...

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Sure @eudemonismWhen society is a monolithic anonymous block ....

But some of us on here will remember you know matter what.

Yes I do think the mh system needs improvement.

I like your sense of humour, ha ha .... if they were all zonked out ... We really have to walk a very long way in another person's shoes to be able to have an inkling of understanding of their lives and struggles. Cheap empathy will not help. There has to be an element of work.

Keep taking care of you.
