Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Hi, ups and downs as usual. I've been a bit manic today and I think it was from a couple beers I had yesterday. Or just the weather . A productive day none the less. I just need to remind myself to slow down and stop sometimes. The highs can be just as bad as the lows. However we need both.

I got a psychiatrists appointment on Wednesday. And have psychology sessions starting next month. Hoping to get a few things sorted between the two. Get some structure of enjoyable things happening in my life again. And be focusing on the little but important stuff. Or at least have the chance to tell someone about my good intentions for myself and how I'd like things to be in my life. Enjoyable things like music. TV series. Internet. You tube subscriptions. Need a unlimited Internet plan though. Lots of juicy stuff on YouTube haha. Books. Reading. Cooking. Learning time. Social time. Family time. Fishing. My stuff. Walking photography. Writing.

I'm really getting into my writing. (all types) and wanna get me a good phone again so I can start up my photography once again. Which goes hand in hand with morning and afternoon walks. I think half of it consists of owning the photo collection and opens up so many possibilities and potential which I can apply my faith too and is diverse, ongoing and leaves a legacy and I can take with me wherever I go. Plus it's a solo game which I do on my own. How does that sound? Apply it to your life if you want.

Are you feeling the chemical rush from the walk? Do you really try to get into that mindful state and soak up all of that nature? times like those are priceless. And another thing before I go. I heard that hearing birds sing will induce good feelings among other stuff. Are you a bird person?

All for now your friend Eude

Re: Coming to terms with reality

hello @eudemonism

yes I get highs after exercise.....A euphoric sense of this is how I should be all the time..

as you said there has to be balance..

yes I love nature..my environment is so important to me..it can easily affect my moods..

I love trees..always have..my older son is the same..he used to like to sit and read his books under a tree..

yes love birds ..we have quite a variety up here..have a resident magpie with a broken wing who has been around for a long time..we feed him..the cats know to leave him alone and he leaves them alone..we called the magpie Napoleons and he is funny to watch he runs across the grass..

brilliant news about psychiatrist and psychologist appointments..I was becoming a bit concerned as you need to have support from professionals whom you trust and feel comfortable with..

things are looking up..pace yourself and once you gain trust let them know what is holding you back..what is not helping you..then what you want to achieve.

break it down into small goals first then add more as you feel ready..

you are ready for this...keep on believing in you..

look foward to hearing how it goes..

dont forgrt the walk tomorrow morning..think it is going to be hot again so I will try to go early

time for sleep

goonight eude..you friend moh

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Member, can I just say thank you for using the correct homophone affect, as opposed to effect.
Makes me very happy.

I've just realized I practice mindfulness everyday when I resist the overwhelming urge to correct people's grammar. Or I'm just petty.
One of the two. 😜🤔

Re: Coming to terms with reality

I love etymology too! It's so fascinating how the English language works and how we steal everything from lots of different other languages. When I was younger I loved poetry and I fell in love with language and words.
Homophone-
H o m o - meaning the same or alike
Phone- meaning sound
So homophone refers to words that sound the same, but have different meanings, e.g.
Two, to and too.
Affect and effect.
Etc.
But affect/effect is one of my massive bugbears. And I rarely see it used correctly. Makes me happy when I do. 😊
Goodnight, hope you have a good day tomorrow.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

your love of the english language and etymology would make a great new thread @Former-Member

as for where it should go ...your choice...if you like the idea of course

what do you think @eudemonism....your pseudo-name is great..plus you love writing...

might be fun to dabble..

I have a strong interest in looking around very old graveyards....old churches....letting my mind travel back to the year and how life would have been,,,

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Member

Yeah why not? I was just in at the book shop today actually. So much information stored down there.

I was also doing some gardening. Two new addictions to the collection are in the ground. And have been blessed. A willow myrtle and a flowering ash. Very eager to watch them grow until the are fully grown.

Wanted to buy a few books. But, needed to be careful where I spent my money. All my reading is basically scripture based. Anyway. It's a novelty thing to have a collection of books though.
