Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Hi @Former-Member everything has come to a halt this afternoon. It's been a good morning and will turn out to be a good day. But for about 4 hours this afternoon i was looking at everything through the all seeing eye of my mind. And well, all i can say is... it's 4 hours of my life I'm never getting back. I'd like to think i could apply a one size fits all analogy too my life which would mean everything works out just fine. But it's probably not possible.

Been going to church and aa meetings. And making changes which point me in the direction i want to go. And it's slowly but surely working. It's like the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other type of thing.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

I got activities i can be getting on with. And stuff i can be doing. But i sometimes start to question what's happening. Then hesitate. The procrastinate. Then deliberate. Then doubt. Then fear. Then analyse. Then over think. Then start being negative. And i wind up in a bind of expectations from myself.

Life is miserable for everyone i suppose. And it is probably a struggle for everyone. And i suspect that everyone is suffering also. So, my point being. If I'm always concerned, worried and concentrated on other people's misery, suffering and struggling. And taking actions to eliminate this from them. I'm not going to have time to worry about my own misery, suffering and struggles. (Whatever they maybe caused bye ). And in turn it basically kills two birds with one stone. And is the lesser of two evils. But beware because there needs to be a balance and there are those who will use it against you. And it is very draining and actually not very easy to maintain. But i do think that the universe, others, God or reality know what's going on. And it does come back on you through karma. So keep the game clean. The intentions pure. Mean well. Want what's best for others. Do good deeds. Go out of your way to check on people. Talk and speak with people. Find out what's going on.

There isthat thing where two people question whos really helping who though. That's a tricky one.

Or sit here and worry about myself? And my problems, issues and short comings. Which do indeed fester upon me. Like it would everyone.

Thought for food @Former-Member ? @Adek ?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

great effort ....very hard to do

life is not easy

as long as we can reap some positives along the way....enjoy the moments and pat ourselves on the back...we can keep on

sounds like you have done just that today

in reply to your latest post

yes I am the same as you ...I feel for others who are hurting.....

I have in the past put too much effort into others and left myself last....little energy left to give to oneself when last

so am learning....I give a certain amount....politely and respectfully remove myself then...

yes I analyse too....I am just analytical ...my style of thinking...it is who I am...so leave that one as is

empathic as you describe yourself...yes...thank goodness there are people like us @eudemonism @Adek ....we just have to learn to set healthy boundaries

am practising the boundaries

when the thoughts become negative I now stop and think is this my old style thinking? if so....start changing the wording to more positive....no more putting myself down.....

lastly practise very hard with the philosphy living in the now

well nearly lastly......recognise that I am human....I can make mistakes...slip up sometimes.....I am learning...I am doing something about it

so am smiling....keep on practising smiling....produces seratonin
