Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Anyone wanna chat?

How are you all going today?

I've been for a drive with friend, to a small coastal town about 50ks away. I'm out of smokes, so I'll be feeling a little bit ordinary and depressed for rest of day. (Lazing around, feeling depressed is on the cards) I'll be faced with anxiety if i think about doing anything, and if i don't go through with it, I'll then feel isolated and like i need validation. (Then reaching out, to bad influences) Better of feeling depressed... hopefully i get a few small things done... shower, garden, pat the pets, some food, a rest...

Hey @eudemonism,

Just popping in - I understand a desire to sleep to stop worries. When you refer to a downer, it's really important that you always consult with a medical professional when utilising sleeping medication options. Perhaps it would be more helpful to connect with a helpline? I know you have had a hard time with the system and I respect that so I am only dropping this here if you need. Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hi Eude - I have been to the chemist and to Bunnings to get some more plants. Already planted a few and just having a rest now. I also visited my sister for a little while on the way home. She lives close - only a few minutes away so it is easy to call in on the way home.

Toby came for a trip around Bunnings - he sat on his blanket in the trolley while I chose plants - he really is a good boy. I didn't get a sausage for him today - we were parked too far away and I had already spent quite a bit of time inside so I was getting tired.

I really want to get some of the weeds picked up today (left them on the grass when I pulled them out ) then hopefully tomorrow I can get some potting mix to fill in some of the areas that need a little more and get the rest of the plants planted over the next few days. It is starting to look much better aready!

How are you going this afternoon - saw that you were going to have to push yourself to do anything today - times like that really suck @eudemonism. How is Misty?

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Yea re Misty @Zoe7 i got Misty at the spare of the moment. I actually picked him up from a Bunning store car park when i first got him. He was a giveaway. He's done me wonders. He really is a great dog. I just wasn't prepared for dealing with his traits as a working dog. Plus with my mhi and my prior mental problems and with my difficulties in managing my own life at the best of times. I wonder if it was a good idea to get him... apart from that, he's doing well from what i can tell... all the other dogs appear to be different then my Misty...
That's good that you're taking care of your garden. There's always something else that needs doing in the garden. Again it's quite a responsibility, and quite a bit of work involved. Sometimes i question myself when i see my garden. I think. What was i thinking? Wouldn't of a simple lawn and simple tree in the middle of the yard been much easier? But can't go back now...
Yea next pay I'm going to goto the chemists and see if they got something to help me relax and release tension. What did you get from the chemists?

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

I pick up most of my meds weekly from the chemist @eudemonism so Monday is pickup day. Some I get monthly from another chemist as they are cheaper. When I was really low I needed to get them all at the same chemist but now I am 'more responsible' so I can get some monthly.

I have a little bit more I want to get done in the garden today then I'll have a shower before I get dinner organised. I might need to go to the shop tonight but I will see how I feel later - will probably go tomorrow before the pool.

I thought Misty was a girl - now I know he is a boy

I think they are worth having just to give us a reason to get up and do things with them Eude - I got Toby in a simialr way - he was in a pet shop when I was going to get a fish tank to replace the leaking one I had - I came home with a puppy and no fish tank ...and he cost me much more but the best money I have ever spent.

What's on the menu for tonight? I haven't decided yet - maybe soft shell tacos.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

I've already had two decent feeds today @Zoe7 so I'll be keeping it simple. May be a few steamed vegetables.
Yea I'm not sure what to do about my meds situation... sounds like you've got yours under control though... i don't think I'd need meds if there wasn't anybody out there who triggered my issues. But unfortunately there is lot's of them. It's so easy to see someone or bump into someone, or have someone say or do something to me, which makes me wild/sets me off. And then get angry or have my issues flare up.
Because it's school holidays the kids next door have been banging and clanging on the fence / making noises all week. It's starting to get on my nerves. plus it's stirring my dog up...
