Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.
I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.
But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.
Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"
Yea I'm hearing you @Zoe7 i had a cup of hot chocolate... fed Misty my dog & I'll now go check on the garden, then jump through the shower, then give one of my friends a call and see if i can visit with Misty... - sometimes i even just enjoy parking in a car park down the foreshore with Misty in the back and watching the world go by for twenty minutes or so...

That is a lovely way to spend some time @eudemonism and great self-care I love the beach for the same reason - there is something calming about sitting watching the waves come in and the bonus is Toby gets to run around and play at the same time. I am just about to settle in and watch a show I recorded so get yourself out and about Eude and I'll catch up with how you are doing later.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within
Hi @Zoe7 the day has turned out alright. I got my act together and it came good. However it was still a struggle. Each day is pretty much the same, I'm constantly tinkering between being well and being unwell. I went for a drive to get papers, then went and parked beside the water- sat and pondered for awhile, made a few phone calls (tried to connect with someone) mum answered, two friends didn't, mum is not real good with my mh stuff. wanted to go for a walk but didn't get around to it. Felt very isolated because of this. Before i went for drive, i walked to a friend's place who lives close by, but he wasn't home. After i got home from the drive i called support line, just to talk with someone and tell someone what's going on. Then had tea with Misty, had a phone call with friend who's in the city, and in a homeless shelter (by choice) now thinking watch a tv programme, have smoke out front and daydream... then hit the hay 😀 how has your day panned out Zoe? And don't forget 😁 i have ice cream...

It seems like you have ended up having a good day. You tried to connect with people and when you couldn't you connected with a helpline - that is awesome Eude and very proactive of you. We all need that connection sometimes and it is great that you recognised that was what you needed - very impressed that you made that call
My day turned out okay too. Bought some plants, got my painting stuff set up to paint and planted a couple of the plants I bought. Now chillin' on here with the tv on. Have had my meds already so might be an early night for me tonight.
I am not a huge ice-cream fan but won't say no to it either lol - What kind are we eating tonight @eudemonism?

Vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate. @Zoe7 I'm hearing you with the early night thing. What's your usual sleep routine like? What's the painting, house painting, or therapy painting?

I can certainly do vanilla ice-cream mixed with chocolate ...you are naughty Eude lol
I was sleeping about 9.30 - 10 but I haven't been getting to slepp until about 11pm. My meds seem to be taking a bit longer to kick in lately so I am beginning to take them earlier. I don't mind going to sleep a little later but it means I am tired in the morning and that isn't good. I will talk to my pdoc about it when she gets back in a week and a half.
I am painting a piece for my sister @eudemonism I have been doing it for over a year now but it is getting closer to being finished. Everytime I do a little more I ask my sister what else she would like in it - I think I have a pretty good idea now on the direction I need to go with it to get it finished.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within
Cool yea @Zoe7 some pieces of art work take years to complete. Good on you for doing a piece for your sister. How many meds do you take in the morning compared to at night? I just watched a bit of tv and they were going on about mental illness in a bad way. Really giving people with my diagnosis a terribly bad name... I'm thinking that when i give up smoking I'll need to stay up later at night and sleep in more, in the mornings... Next time i see my psych doc I'll be asking about different meds. But who knows what will happen???

Re: Sharing the wisdom within
I take 3 different meds in the morning then 4 supplements/meds to counteract the side effects of other meds in the afternoon and 4 at night @eudemonism. I couldn't even tell youo what each one does any more but I do know that they are helping and that is the important thing. I trust my GP and pdoc and they have been great helping me through everything and getting the balance of meds right. One of my biggest issues was the thought of hospital - was another major trigger for me - so we did med changes out of hospital - required very close monitoring whereby my GP saw me everyday for quite a while then 3 times per week and now we do weekly visits. I am very luck y to have sucha good gp and pdoc.
You can onlly ask about meds - if you don't think they are helping as much as they should then you have the right to ask Eude.
What was the program you were watching?

I forget now @Zoe7 i just didn't like it... there is some really gruesome stuff on tv late at night. I really don't like it. It's terrible hey. It's some really disturbing stuff. Yea I've never really trusted gps / pdocs and their medicine. I think it's why i ended up on the depot injection. They had no other options @Zoe7 I'm getting tired. I'm going to switch off soon.
