Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Yea @Bunniekins i don't feel like doing very much today. I've just curled back up into bed for the moment. Got a bit of headache. That's good that you got stuff going on with ex regarding daughters needs. Sounds like it should be a good day.

@eudemonism Hi buddy I woke up early and don't really feel too good so I went back to sleep after feeding my fur babies. I am going to put off Bunnings until tomorrow but will try to get to the other hardware store in a little while. They have a sale on plants so I will go and see what they have. Will catch up with you later today or tonight - depending on whether I have another sleep or not.

No worries @Zoe7 sounds like a bit of a down day...??? I know I'm having a down / off day... i wish i had a downer to completely numb me out, but unfortunately i don't, unfortunately i still have strong urges, to be getting out there and doing stuff... But because of low motivation, low mood, not getting pleasure out of anything, side effects / underlying illness. So I'm choosing to sleep the day away... and with my lack of ability to act on these urges comes a great sense of frustration and wanting someone/something to blame... because it is quite frustrating to have one to many down/off days...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hi Eude - I forced myself to get dressed and went to the hardware store for their plant sale. I got some nice plants for the garden - will plant them over the next couple of days. I still need a coule more so will try to get to Bunnings tomorrow to have a look at what they have,

It sucks when we have down days - I was feeling like that this morning but getting out has helped me. I know that if I force myself to do things sometimes I can pull myself up out of that darkness enough to get through the day ok. Hopefully I have done that now by going out today. It is a beautiful day here today so just getting out in the sunny day for a little while is a good thing.

I can't plant my plants until a little later as the sun will affect my skin - it gets swollen and very itchy with my photosensitivity - so the lower the uv rays the better for me to be out in it - hence needing to wait to plant my plants. Early mornings and late afternoons are best to have less of a reaction.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

That's good @Zoe7 I've been contemplating getting out and about myself. But not sure if i really want to, not even sure what I'm going to do. After I've been sitting/lazing around for a day or two, my body begins to feel weak and jittery... it sometimes gets to the point where i will put off / hesitate showering, doing dishes, opening up the curtains, going outside, washing clothes... it really is a nasty cycle. Just yesterday i pushed away all forms of professional support, i sent the support worker a message that said, i don't want you or any other professional's ever contacting me again, or I'll make an official complaint about harassment. So yes, it gets petty bad for myself sometimes...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

I know that place well @eudemonism - feels like no-one or nothing can help and you are destined for a life of darkness and misery. It takes a lot of hard work and a little hope to get out of that place - and the support of people on here has certainly been a life saver for me at times. I think pushing ourelves to do things - especially when we feel we can't - is super important. There were days when I would do the same as you Eude - not want to get uo, get dressed, shower, eat let alone go outside of the house - but I had to to get to appointments. Then I would come home and sleep. I didn't sleep at night so any sleep during the day was a bonus - your mind certainly plays tricks on you when you are sleep deprived!

Just going outside for a quick walk or sitting in the sun for a time can do the world of good for us - maybe you could get outside and check how your cane is growing. It doesn't have to be for long - every little it bit helps.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Zoe7 I'll basically dissociate myself from all people. I'll find reasons to push them away and avoid them. But it don't really work, because i have no one else for support.

Also, i haven't had coffee for a couple days now... because I'm trying to quit coffee... I'm also trying to avoid and get sober from alcohol. And also looking at quitting tobacco... the withdrawals from tobacco are the bad one... I basically get down and out for three or four days-it's really tough.

Everything comes to a stop......

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

That is super tough for you to do @eudemonism - quitting one thing is tough but trying to do all three is so much tougher. Lean on us here while you do it Eude - it will be a massive achievement if you can quit all three. You will find you will need to replace those things with something else - that is where something physical/exercise is good - and the better you feel the more exercise you will be able to do. Start off small with a short walk or a bike ride - I don't like walking much unless it is at the beach but am happy to jump on my bike and go for a ride.
