Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Oh my goodness @TAB & @utopia me and alcohol just don't mix. It's no good for me aye. It's bad stuff. Half the reasons i drink is because of the social aspect and peer pressures. 😟 it's so frustrating to be caught up in the drinking culture. 😑

Well its the most beautiful time of the year. We're coming into gardening season. We're only 90 or so days away from Christmas. And a 100 or so days away from the new year 2019.

I'm looking for some hyssop for my garden @Smc@Former-Member ???

I'm questioning what life is all about. Especially at night. And I'm thinking I'll be glad when its all over and done with. As my life has turned out to be hardship upon hardship. Struggle upon struggle. And problem upon problem. Especially when it comes to my mental problems, issues with medication and issues with addiction. Social issues. Emotional issues. Sexual issues. Weight problems. Physical issues. Financial issues. Sleeping issues. unemployment issues. Housing issues. Issues left, right and centre...

All i can really do is bounce back with a positive attitude. Focus on the solution and not the problem. Be mindful. Practise healthy thinking styles. Do my best to look after myself. @greenpea @Friendconnect @Mazarita

Bouncing back with a positive attitude, from the issues upon issues, seems like a real strength you have, @eudemonism. There are times when healthy thinking styles elude me completely. I'm with on their benefit when we can do it. Even just by being on the forum, we are all reaching out to others to help in looking after ourselves. Kind wishes for your difficult struggles. And good morning!

Thanks @Mazarita i also got to watch my feelings of resentment (angry, bitter and twisted feelings toward the world)

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

From reading your posts from time to time over a fairly long period now, I get what you are saying about the feelings of resentment, @eudemonism. The ones we hurt the most with those are usually ourselves. Seems helpful that you are so aware of these things.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Mazarita yea one of my resentments is against the system. Re taxes. Living conditions. Being influenced. They're not really the negotiating type 😊

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

When I was younger, I used to rage against the system a lot more, @eudemonism. At some point I realised just how powerless I really was to affect anything. These days I mostly see us as living in a particular time and place in history. Like all our predecessors, we can only live with our the conditions of our existence the best we can. History, including in its current incarnation, is bigger than us.

Yep hearing you @Mazarita
I'm very caught up in trying to get the most out of everything for myself. Very ambitious and motivated in one sense. However it is usually a vein experience and done out of desperation. Because everybody doing the same thing. And it don't really work out in the end. -yes powerless against the majority of my circumstances. And literally just living in a place of time and space.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

For myself, I'm not convinced that being highly ambitious has helped me in my life, @eudemonism. There are a few good things that have come of it, but mostly it has been a feeling or drive that has tortured me with frustrations. I'm 56 now, past my 'prime', but enjoying life more than ever, despite the ups and downs of my condition. I tend not to look too far ahead anymore and try to live more in the moment, which is, when it comes down to it, the only real experience we have. Memory and the future are figments of our imagination in a way. I'd rather be as content as possible with what is here and now.
