Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

My great great grand dad fought in one of the wars. He ended up with a silver plate in his head and come back with mental problems as a result... Eude... i don't know the full story I'm only going off of what my uncle and grandma told me...

Good Morning!:womanveryhappy:

@eudemonism @Sophia1 @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @frog

Have a safe, & lovely day, & a New Beginning!

Hi, Eude,

My Grand Father fought in 1st World War, & he got shell shock, & never recovered. He was Mentally ill all his life after that. My parents would pick Grand Father up from the care unit, & bring him home with us for the week ends.

Grand Father was not able to talk properly, nor eat without help, or use the bathroom without help. I never understood what was going on, & he used to scare me, a little.

Poor Grand Father!! 😞

Very sad!

Love & Hugs!

Bella xo 🙂

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Former-Memberit's probably a common story... very sad truth be known... i never had much to do with my grand fathers. Neither of them directly served. However one did rebuild buildings that had been blown up in England. He died of a heart attack while i was still a baby. And my other grand father was a police officer for awhile. He died when i was about 17. One of my grandmothers passed a few years back. And my other grandma is still alive.

However if you go back into my great great uncles, aunties, granddads and grandmas a massive story unfolds.

Eude.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hi@eudemonism Glad you had some positive feelings re life. I know what you mean re a big story unfolding. I believe that fault and choice and blame are complicated by situations. I dont believe in blaming any one person, parent, doc, including ourselves. A lot of stuff happens. Some if it we have control over, some we really do not control. I have found that understanding the very different personalities, lives and historical contexts of my parents was a massive help in finally (ha ha .,, it took a while) giving me some insight and meaning. Oddly the labels given to them both were the same! That is why I started sharing bits and bobs on here ... it is the striving that matters to me ... the journey and all that ...

@Former-Member that is sad about your grandfather, and Eude is right, it is common. Cos my family was so lobsided I lost all the Australian stories of my family, so I had to go digging, researching and also generalising a bit ... to get an idea ....

War stories and uniquely Australian stories are coming out in our literature. Reading them has helped me connect better to people's experience, as before I just connected with the landscape ....did not get the natives .. ahem ... the white ones ...

I really believe going gently on ourselves is important, not that it is being weak and delusional, just that anyone will get defensive under attack ... its how humans are built.

I will be offline for a couple of days ... busy doing good stuff with my boy ...

Take Care All @frog @Shaz51 @Sophia1

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

No worries @Appleblossom i hope it all goes well for you and son... Yea it is an ongoing jounrey and unfortunately my will and striving to be well and healthy only gets me so far.

And good morning @Former-Member how are you going today? Got anything planned? I'm mourning my good health today. I'm loathing in self pity about all the problems I've got to deal with. I'm reflecting upon my life story. I'm trying to work out where i go from here. As the last few weeks have kind of gotten out of control.

Good morning @Sophia1 my mental problems have become truly complicated. I'm feeling like I'm barely managing most days. Plus. The complications of the internet and all the media giants...? I'm potentially exposed to hundreds and thousands of people whom i would not be unless it was for the internet...? Life is far from simple in this sense...

I would like so much to have good health. To not be addicted to anything. To not need medication. To be wealthy. To sleep well. To have a career. Anyway it's a beautiful spring morning here. I'm going to try and give up cigarettes again except this time with nicotine chewys. And I'm still going to push for a medication change. As i believe it will help greatly. Especially with my alcohol problem. Hmm 😣😥😖😤😦

Hi @frog@Shaz51 how are you both going today?

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@eudemonism @Sophia1 Good Morning Sophia, thinking of you! 🙂 xo

Hi, Eude,

I have had a bad morning myself, concerning my lack of good health, & agony in my damaged body, so I went on line & researched, & found some very helpful results. Now I am going to start today, & not just try, but make some positive changes, one step at a time. No gr8 big head first dive into it. By doing & expecting too much too soon, I will burnout in my attempt.

Maybe, do some research concerning your own MHI, & what ever you are concerned about? Make a decision to start to get on top of all the negatives you spoke of, then step by step, do not give in, or give up, take back your life, what ever your life, means to you? You still have all your body parts, & your not in a Wheel Chair, think about it, ok 🙂

Anyway, just trying to help, not bossing, or telling you hat to do it, just a suggestion.

Love & Hugs!

Bella XO 🙂

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Thanks @Former-Member that is really positive and supportive. Bless your soul.

I've already been doing that this morning...

Have you heard about turmeric?

@Sophia1 i made a joke. I call people for no good reason at all- apart from practising politeness and good manners 😊

& I can get very emotional and upset after having one to many red wines...
